Ok, so i tried the HCL liquid and it works but some new ones form... I have a few small very very superfical small ones. Do you guys still try to get rid of them or just wait until they get bigger? I'm planning on trying to use the soldering iron method to see if it last longer.

The HCL i would say last for a month or so... how long do you guys re-do the "maintence" on them?

Thanks!

OK, I bought the soldering iron and got pencil-style tips for it. It then took me a while to pluck up the courage to have my first session, but I did that this evening.

I think the suggestion that you practice with a 'cold' iron before you plug it in makes a lot of sense - to get a bit of technique going before you are holding a 400 degree rod by your balls!

I did maybe 6 spots on my left side and just 1 on my right. I have loads - maybe 50 left and 20 right - and it's kind of hard to tell which ones I've done - hence doing 1 on the right as a control.

I was pretty cautious and only touched most of them once. A few popped properly, and it's true that you really know when it's actually popped. Most of them though have just gone flesh coloured where I hit them, and didn't actually pop - they just nipped a bit and changed colour. Some still have dark patches (the larger ones I guess) so I am guessing I need to go back and do those again another time...

I feel like maybe I didn't press for long enough, or perhaps I should have touched more of them more times, as some of them don't really look so different.

Could anybody tell me - how long should it take to see an impact on the ones I hit? I think a few have completely changed colour, but the ones that don't look much different - will they change in days to come, or do I just need to have another go and be less cautious?

I replied to you some time ago, but apparently my post was deleted because I had a link where to buy the soldering iron. I was never notified what happened, so I really don't know. Anyway, mine is a basic 25W pencil type with a pointed tip.

I'd wait a week and see how they heal. It sounds like you got them. Mine that don't pop and just change color do disappear. I don't press at all, just barely touch the hot tip to the spots and VERY quickly at that.

thanks alan, will see how they go. i am really quite excited about the idea of them disappearing. if it's just a quick light touch, i probably got quite a few... cheers again.

Ok so I also wanted to give an update on the soldering method.

The smaller ones are the best to remove with ease with the soldering iron. Take the time to hold the iron to them as long as you can (1-2 sec) or unitl you hear a pop.

Trim the hairs in the area for treatment first (so your pubes dont get in the way).

When you hear the pop it is very exciting as I have noticed in my case the ones that pop dissapear for good.

The larger ones (2+ mm) are tougher to remove. They have also been the ones that have bled in my case.

I have had four that bled after the soldering iron and its amazing how much they bleed (especially one that was the biggest about 4mm). IT gushed like a river for a few minutes and had me worried at the start. I just jump in the shower when they bleed and they tend to stop in 3-5 mins. Scary at first though.

I still have some to removed but the methos works for me.

I have had one that bled on the night i did it and the next morning when I entered the shower but it is all healed now (to be honest it may have been a different one that bled at night and a diffrent one that bled in the morning as they were in the same target area).

I had a lot and still have a few to go but the key is to keep it regular and attack them at times they are more visible and when they first pop up.

Good luck all.

Hey Guys!  I read all the posts from the very first to the very last.  I've had these darn things for about 10 years or so and always wanted to get them removed via laser.  After reading all these soldering iron methods Im kinda getting a bit of courage to try it.  And Im glad I foudn this forum.  Can anyone provide any before pics or after pics?  Im curious as to the results before I do all mine.  I've got tons on the balls.

Are your balls sore or sensitive afterwards? Thanks

Not sore nor sensitive afterward at all. I don't think there is a way to share pics here. I didn't take any "before" pics. I didn't think about it, but I guess it would be nice to have pics showing the difference.

Since you have so many, I would do it in two or more sessions and don't be in a hurry to get rid off all them at once. I suppose I had around 36 of them when I started. Right now, I just have some very tiny and insignificant ones, but I'll do those soon too.

I have also tried the Visine (Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride otc eyedrops.) I did not have instant success but did see a slower and definite shrinking of the angiokeratoma papules. The progression over several weeks of topical application caused the papules to lowly change color from deep red/purple to a grey/semitransparent state and finally shrink to a small skin colored bump. Interesting stuff. I discussed the treatment with my physician who had never heard of it before. None the less, it seemed to work.

scottys : I also detected them at a early age 20s,in my 30s the started bleeding and now in my 40s i still dealing with them. I have had laser done i was raw for 6 months and 5 years later they are back. just as bad but i guess if you just suck it up and deal with the laser treatment every two years life would be good. im going back for more treatment soon. good luck, steve

Honestly, the soldering iron method is so effective and easy, I don't think I'd want to go to the expense or inconvenience of any type of medical procedure to remove the angiokeratoma spots. You might want to go back and read about it, then give a try. I am very satisfied.
