Hello, I had the same problem. I eat juiced vegetables and fruit for nearly and month after , beetroot and cucumber juice help to tone the liver and apple is good for digestion. Ive been struggling with my pains for 8 months now, heaps of tests etc hospital visits. Ive found acupunture really good and the acupunturist usually can give you an eating plan to help you heal your liver , seems to be working good luck!!

I used simple simethicone capsules to reduce gas and that helped a lot!! Kept them around everywhere, car, bedside, work... simethicone is also available as a liquid. 2 years after gallbladder removal I still need them on occasion :(

I'm so glad I've found this thread! I had a feeling my doc thought I was crazy complaining about gallbladder attacks 4 years after I had my gallbladder removed. No matter what I eat, and I don't eat fatty or spicy food for years now because all the stomach problems I had, as soon as 15 minutes later I'll start getting dull and persistent pain. And it's only worse at night when I don't even eat anything, like around 4am I get woken up by sharp stabbing pains. Could it be that gallstones have formed in my remaining bile ducts? IS there anything other than painkillers to try to stop this pain?

Drink warm/hot water when an attack comes. This seems to help me GREATLY. I too have these attacks after 9 years of having my gallbladder out! It's been SO long and still once a month get these attacks.. Feels like a heart attack! I stick my thumb way in that area and drink HOTTISH water.. helps!!

I found that anything with codein in it will triger an attack. If I stay away from that I am fine. Took a cough medicine with it in and had an attack and same with tylenol 3's

You just described me to a T. Had gall bladder removed in o5. From time to time have attacks. Last night 2 severe attacks. Hurt so bad I sweated through my jacket and thought I would have to lay in bathroom floor. It eased up and started at 230 in the morning. This is not good

I had my gall bladder removed in 1975. After a couple of bouts of jaundice and hospitalisation, in 2010, after a particularly bad bout and after 6 ERCP's, followed by pancreatitis, I had another major operation where they found my bile duct was hugely distended with a bunch of black stones, the combined size of a golf ball. They had to put a stent in my bile duct to keep it open. I still have the odd twinge which makes me think they may have formed again but was told I needn't keep to a fat free diet.
