Hi, I came back from camping yesterday, because I have a bad stomach infection. My husband is a doctor, and he thinks it’s salmonella. I am waiting for results, and I could really use to hear some more experiences with this condition. Thanks.
It is quite possible that you have salmonella, especially because you were camping. In those circumstances, the food can easily be the cause of this bacterial stomach infection. I know, because that’s how I got stomach infection. I ate raw eggs in the cake for my birthday, and soon after that I started having fever, nausea and diarrhea. My parents also got sick, and that’s how I know that the cake was a source of this stomach infection. Salmonella can also be caused by food that has been cooked, and not eaten right away. If your test returns positive on salmonella, you will probably get some antibiotics. If your husband ate the same food as you, he should be tested too.
