I have the same exact symptoms, the blood being a recent thing. I don't know what to do, I haven't eaten in 2 days, I can't eat. My doctor doesn't want to do a colonoscopy, I've seen two doctors. They say "eat better", both gave a laxative and one said to take probiotics and gas pills. I have been eating the correct foods, but even an apple makes me feel bad after I eat and worse later on. I had to call in sick today and am afraid my boss is getting fed up. I had my symptoms for two years now and they are at their worst. I can't function, I'm afraid how this is going to end. Did anyone get a diagnosis? I can't go on like this anymore. For god sakes I'm only 24.

Hi, I have all the same symptoms and have had them since I was a teenager, now nearly 30. I have had all the tests several times but was finally diagnosed with IBS.

There are many cause to IBS, that are not just about diet. Stress being one of them, especially when your worrying you've cancer and the like.

Having adjusted my diet and exercise, I now only get flair ups infrequently and mostly at times of stress. Drinking peppermint tea, hot water etc help a lot.

It is best to go to your doctor to get checked out, but try not to worry yourself to much. Keeping a food diary is really important too, its annoying but really helpful.

Hope this helps!!

I have the same problems. Awful problems. Now I also have bowel incontenence. No doc has been able to help me at all. I can't take it much longer, the pain, the constipation, the diareha, the accidents the gas. I'm almost house or should I say bathroom bound. If anybody has any answers, let me know. I've had a million colonoscopies and even went to the Uof M hospital in Minneapolis to see Dr. Rothenberger. Most docs suggest a colostomy, but doubt it will take care of my pain. Help! SR

This sure sounds like Crohn's Disease (I have this, and the symptoms are spot on), or some other form of Irritable Bowel Disease. Getting a colonoscopy and talking to a Gastro-Intestinal Specialist is the way to go.

Hey I feel your pain. I have every test known to mankind and still nothing wrong can be found. I don't feel like the docs really understand how this is ruining my life. I went out to Minneapolis, MN to see Dr. Rothenberger (a fancy specilist) he just gave me a bowel regimen consisting of fiber and 4 different kinds of laxatives. That just about killed me. I am getting scheduled for a colostomy surgery in Minnesota right now. I can't go on this way. The thought of a colostomy makes me sick, but as I say, I can't go on like this. My hope is that they will find something wrong when they get in there and can fix me. Thanks for your input. Sandi R.

Try Normacol, this worked wonders for me. It's a plant based laxative the consultant has prescribed. I suffered for 18 months almost on a daily basis until I tried this. And even better it does not get absorbed into the bloodstream so will not mess with your body.

Good luck

I'm only fifteen and I've been having these problems starting Thanksgiving Day and it's now January. Everytime i've gone to the doctor they say "it's just how some people are" but I don't believe it.
Some people have problems, not terrible terrible stomach pains assisted by constipation during which I break into a cold sweat and feel very puke-ish. Then finally after at least an hour I will spill some diarrhea and continue to for a while.
During the major cramps and stomach pains, I spend the entire time in my bathroom.
This is what has helped me with my problems, i've been experimenting for 2 months.
At first sign of stomach aches
-Take two or three IB-Prophen and begin running a hot bath.
-Plug in an electric heating pad near the toilet, and put some towels down.
-Having a short stool under your feet helps because it puts you into the natural squatting position
-*A smart idea is having a cup or ice water so you can drink once you start having diarrhea, you can fill it up with sink water if you run out.
-Sit on the toilet and relax pwith the heating pad.

Stomach aches start
-When your stomach aches get really bad, hold a bunched up towel, clench it, bite it, do whatever you need to.
-If the pain becomes to where you can't tolerate it, throw the heating pad to the side and jump into the bathtub. It may help within 15 seconds. The warmer the bath, the better.
-Once you have relaxed in the tub, get out, dry off quickly and resume back to the toilet.
-Think positively and maybe even tell yourself you can do it...i donno. Haha. Whatever helps!

Keep doing this Keep doing this back and forth. You can do it and it really helps me. It's the worst, and there is nothing magical that can make it stop. Eventually you will begin to have your diarrhea and feel better.

I just got done with this, after school until 545 or 6 pm i was watching Pretty Little Liars, I got up to take a bath because I needed one, and it started.
I feel like I dealt with it better today then I have before. It is so miserable, but when I handle it in a mature way at least I have something to feel good about later.
Now I am sitting on the bathroom floor since I don't feel like it's over, but at the moment I feel a lot better. Thank goodness for laptops and I am happy to share all of this somewhere since it is all fresh in my mind and I didn't forget anything. I don't think I did anyway.

What is this?
I don't know what this is, but I wish i did!
Since it is flu season my mom has suggested that i keep getting a stomach bug. Maybe she is right.
Just incase however I have been taking a Daily Supplement called Colon Health or something like that. It has been two or so weeks since the last time it happened. Maybe it is helping.
I have gotten soo distraught before that i have literally dug the feces out myself. Is that bad?
Do you have any suggestions for me? I may be going to see a specialist soon.
I hope I helped you!
I'm 15 and dealing with this, I think it makes me a strong girl. Now if it can be stopped...please let me find out how to stop it!

if you are feeling extremely irritable i am 18 years old and suffer from IBS, i found out at a young age that cannabis works, even if you are not a smoker you can put this is food, it really does help digestion and everyone has there own way of dealing with it, my mum is anti-cannabis but she is a m.s sufferer and is now on the new sativex and she says its a million times better than other dangerous medication she used to take, please stay open minded about cannabis as it has really unique quality's, this doesnt cure IBS but helps with going to the toilet, relaxing your muscles and i must say cannabis users use alot to get high, if you do use this method you really dont need alot to feel more relaxed, literally 0.1/0.2g of the magic stuff and you will experience extremely fast muscle relaxation and will feel awesome in the mornings.
no haters please this is real medication.

just to update on my condition,i havnt been on here for 6 months.I have now been ill for 3 yrs,the last yr being the worst, the pain in my stomach the chronic diarrhea 10 times a day,the right side pain.i have had every known test to man from endoscopy to colonoscopy sigmoscope all biopsys etc all clear,my surgeon has just said well it looks like crohns but we cant find it,it still could be grit n the gallbladder or its extreme chronic ibs. This condition has disabled me,I get up and it feels like ive been kicked in the stomach, the pain is awful every day and if i walk far or do alot of exercise it gets worse. The only saving grace i dont bleed but its mucous.Ive tried allsorts to help and found only 1 thing and thats Pepto bismal not gaviscon thats useless, pepto lines my whole intestines so they cant inflame,my doc says its safe to take everyday for as long as i live, its stops the diarrhea too which is a bonus but it doesnt completely stop the pain.My son is now 3 and how ive got through this last yr looking after him while my hubby is at work i will never know, ive crawled around somedays cos i cant stand up with the pain.I will update again when i go for my next sigmoscope on the 17th may 2011,I just want my happy life back.me age 43

If you think you have IBS... Try taking Probiotics and Aloe Vera Juice you can get them at any health food store .... EAT RAW FOOD! Today, in this world we eat a lot of cooked food, meaning all the nutritious that we need are being killed in the process....so thats why its important to eat alot of veggies and fruits, they contain living bacteria (that's good for us).Living food for the living Body....  Most important , Look up to the sky and ask for help from the big man up stairs ... don't lose your faith.
