Like eveyone else i have been having the same issues for about 4 months. I dont get that much blood, everyone once in awhile its mixed in with the mucus. I used to go to the bathroom every day, now its every couple days and when it hits I have to go within minutes. I get stomach pains and back hurts (I believe from not having normal bowl movements) My question is do you think antibiotics brought this on?? I had a really bad sinus infection and I ended up on three rounds of antibiotics within two months. Then I went to Bali for a month but cut it short because of stomach problems. It seems like when I stay away from gluten and dairy it helps. Its just hard to do that, especially when its in half of the things you wouldnt expect. So going from being a perfectly healthy 26 year old, to daily troubles ever since my sinus infection doesnt sound right to me. If you have any ideas I would love to know. Good luck with everyone. Especially if you dont have insurance!!!! DOCTOR BILLS SUCK!!!

I was told first for many years it was all in my head...Then finally I was told it was IBS, over the next two years the so called IBS was slowly getting worse and the months went by. It was so hard to function and work, I was getting pale and very, very tired. Then one day I had blood after a bowel movement and I called the Dr. went in and he told me it was my hemroids. Now, I am going from Diarrhea to Constipation, bloated stomach and losing weight rapidly, until finally one day I collaped at work and was rushed my ambulance in critical condition, my family was called and told I wouldn't make it through the night, I had lost 30% of my blood it was pooling in my stomach... I some how made it, the next day they stablelized me and took me down for test a endoscopy first and the saw nothing but blood in my stomach then they did a Colonosocpy and BINGO!!! A large tumor that broke through the colon I had coloretal cancer late Stage 3 was rushed to surgery removed a large section of my colon and half of my rectum... I went through hell and bak Chemo & Radiation ... I was 44 given 8 months if I was lucky... That was 18 years ago this Aug... Be your own Dr. read learn as much as you can, take notes of your condition, see what seems to trigger it... Change your diet you could be Gluten Intolerant, you will be surprised who much better you will feel if you take Gulten out of your diet. I am still having major issue now and am taking way to many meds... But 3 years ago my small bowel became Necortic (dead) side effect from all the radiation I took back in 1994, all the scare tissue is casuing the colon to become very narrow so I have had several Bowel Obstructions 8 to be excact.... I just don't want to see anyone go through what I did, so you all know your bodies better then the Doctors do, so arm yourself with as much information as you can, bring it with you and talk to the Dr. about it, it they don't listen to you find another one how will, its YOUR health...Take Care!!

I was the one that posted this. Just to let everyone know I am doing sooo much better but not fully myself yet. This went on for another year and got worse. I felt like I would never be able to do anything normal again. Between waking up tired and having a daily headache, mucus, stomach pain, skin problems etc. I ended up cutting out gluten and dairy and it took almost 2 months to see the change. I dont have that sharp pain in my stomach, my bowels are almost back to normal (but are still sensitive when I eat certain things), my energy level is back to what it was, I dont wake up in the morning wanting to go back to bed, my headaches are almost gone, and so much more. I know it sucks to not be able to eat what everyone else is but honestly its worth it. I loved beer and cheese soooo much, but now after being off of it and not wanting to feel like sh*t again I dont miss it. K I do a little but you start seeing food differently once you know thats whats making you sick. So give it a try. I think doctors are full of sh*t when they say IBS. Its easier for them to say that and that its something you have to deal with, but it doesnt have to be like that the rest of your life. Please try it. Give it at least 8 weeks. No cheating. If that doesnt help you, you will at least know its not one of the main food intolorances out there. Even start with just gluten. And blood test dont always work. I took one but nothing came of it. And trust me, if thats the case you will find a ton of food you can still eat. You'll learn to love rice and potatoes (: If you have any more questions please ask.

Same here. But I only had blood in my tool for a day. I need a colonoscopy, and i'm only 13. The poop I had with blood was almost all blood but you could see chunks in it. (I know its gross sorry) But I'm really nervous for the colonoscopy. I've had on and off diarrhea for months, Then I had It for a full day. Then (yesterday) I got the blood in my stools. Now today, I keep having to go #2 (Diarrhea) But theres no blood. Does anyone think they know the problem?

I had the same thing. I put myself on bland diet till it stopped and slowly re-introduced foods to see what triggered it. 3 items triggered it and they had the same thing in common - Sorbitol. No more chewing sugar free gum, eating buffet desserts, chewable vitamin C tablets, etc. Not even diet sodas. Doctor advised Align Probiotics and I've been on them for 2.5 months and I feel great. I will stay on them. Many restaurants use sugar substitutes to save money - so, at the buffet, I eat fresh fruit. Don't waste your $ on cheaper brands. Use Align and take it first thing in the morning. Hope this helps.

Consider a food allergy…particularly gluten which is found wheat , barley and rye. It can cause significant damage to the digestive tract due to difficulty in diagnosis. It took me 25 years before I realized it was a culprit. And by then intestinal damage was done such as inflammatory bowel syndrome.
