I hbe a calcium disease called hypoparathyroidism. I am 45 female. I have dealt with spasms because of low calcium but never in stomach. But after doing some research reading on other forums I asked my primary if he could order IV mag and fluids.
I get bad muscle spasms after I eat. If I try this I can rule that out. Still waiting on test results though. I did ultrasound, ct.
This is very new to me it is messing up my absorption of calcium meds. I'm still trying to eat high calcium diet to help with it. I do eat salads mostly baby arugula. Nothing to difficult.
Anyhow just fusterated really. I can't handle taking magnesium but IV mag I can tolerate. I figured it would be worth a try.

Have you gotten any answers yet? My daughter had been having these same symptoms since August of 2015. She is twelve.

Im 49 years and have experienced 4 cases of stomach spasm sever pain that last 1 to 3 hours. The pain woke me up during my first 2 hours of sleep.

2 Cases. Having for dinner a particular type of noodle that my system was not able to digest. It was not easy to breath and my stomach was bloated. I took warm water, burped and and vomited. Only then I felt relieved and the pain subsided slowly although I steel felt sore. After the second case, I avoided such type of noodle (plastic like Bee-Hon)

2Cases. In both cases I had late dinner between 10-11PM. The 2nd case was extreme as I skipped lunch that day. Within one hour after retiring, I woke up with severe pain in my bloated stomach. I could hardly breath. Was sweating but no fever. I took warm tea and a glass water with 2-teaspons apple cider vinegar. I burped a lot and vomitted several times. The pain started to subside although my tummy still felt sore. I put warm compress on my tummy. It lasted 2-3 hours in both cases, before I was able to sleep again. Since then I did not skip lunch and have dinner on time. Stress could be a factor.

I also did not go to ER for I knew they will just observe and give me pain relievers.

hi gayle i have the exact same prob in my stomach and bowel. comes on any time and worse when lying down (along with a deep palpitation type feeling). Ive been checked and nothing serious but no one has looked into my existing medications especially sitagliptin and duluxotine both of which can cause a hord of problems and even poor motility of the gut. Have you discussed with GP digestive enzymes and motility tests for bowel. hope this can be of some help.

Hi,
Sorry to hear your daughter has had all these problems. I am a previous colo-rectal (lower gastro/bowel) nurse and critical care nurse. I have experienced that patients who have had their gallbaladder removed are at an increased risk of ‘Helicobacter pylori’ bacteria/infection in the gut. It’s not widely reported on in studies in depth, however, I have noticed some links with this occurring. Sometimes symptoms can seem slightly sporadic/intermittent; as though it settles then flairs up again. I have requested personally to consultants to run the test and have been positive on a few occasions. All most all symptoms alleviated when treated with appropriate antibiotics. I maybe way off the mark and your daughter symptoms obviously require specialist input/care but it does help to reach out! I hope if this may help at all.
Kind regards and all the best
x
