Caron,

I am 7 weeks post total hysterectomy and I have the same problem you described, the feeling is coming back a little, but not all the way, but the lower stomach is still there. I try to walk 30 minutes each day, but I don't know when this stomach is going to go down.

I am also losing weight without trying, have you experienced that? I am craving sweets, and I have never craved them before. I am on the "patch", what r u using for hormone replacement/therapy?

Hello, I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago and I noticed this strange shape too, but I thought it was my bladder because everything else was not there so I just ignored it and then 9 months ago I had got severly sick and ended up in the ER where they then done a cat scan and found a large hernia as well as a large cyst on my ovary. So needless to say they had to go in and remove my ovaries and try to repair the hernia as best as they could. But what I am saying This thing could most likely be a hernia which is caused from a surgery or multiple surgeries. Now 4 weeks ago I had to go back into surgery to get my hernia's repaired again because the first repair was not succsessful and ripped back open, they used a mesh this time to repair it. My hernia was a shape of a nerf football at the pelvic area which did form a few weeks after my first surgery and sometimes the hernias can be pushed back in to where it belongs but I don't recommend trying to do this. You really should see your doctor right away and not let it go if it is a hernia, because you can risk your intestens being blocked and strangled like mine was getting ready to do , but still luckily caught it in good time. you also form scar tissue after surgery inside you abdomon which can feel wierd too. As far as loss of feeling , if it's near or around the surgical incisions more than likely the feeling won't come back because when they cut you they also cut the surrouding nerves too. I really stress that you see your Dr.

I had total hysterectomy 11 weeks ago- surgery was uncomplicated
and I was discharged in 5 days. Other than some discharge and the
usual soreness- I have recovered beautifully- FEEL GREAT-NO PAIN
AT ALL. Then..... last week I noticed my lower abdomen was very
distended- I thought it was something I ate- 2 days later it was still swollen. So, I made an appt with my doctor and she checked me for hernia- she said it didn't appear to be that- so I'm scheduled for a vaginal ultrasound. I have absolutely no pain in the abdomen at all- just some tightness due to the swelling. Any thoughts on what's going on?

I am 7 weeks post hysterectomy. I too had a strange roll shape develop above my incision before I went back for my second week followup. My doctor also said it looked strange but said it was scar tissue. I asked for a ultrasound as I wanted to know more about what was going on, but she didn't do one. I have an appointment with a another doctor coming up for a second opinion. I'm curious to know if your roll shape ever disappeared or is it still there?

After 3 surgeries, the last one in 2015 my "lump" just to the right of the incision is still there and I HATE it. I feel deformed.

I am having the exact same symptoms! Was yours a hernia? I had a CT scan and am currently waiting to hear back from my doctor.

I had a full hysterectomy on July 17 this year n now right under my scar is a lump my Dr said it might be a hernia. I have another Dr in Scranton that's going to check it. The actual Dr that did my surgery screwed me up for life I'm praying it's not something I need surgery again

I completely understand and feel for you. I had robotic hysterectomy 2+ weeks ago, and have had since day ONE a walnut sized, hard, raised LUMP right above my navel where the scope went in. I am/was an avid exerciser, and now it hurts like hell to try to walk, even slowly (after more than two weeks, really?), I am still bleeding, vaginally, and am very very upset. My g.p. thinks it's a hernia. This would be the second surgery i have had in 3 years where surgeon ONE caused a mistake, such that surgeon TWO had to fix it. SO over stinkin' doctors. Borderline suicidal some days. Can't take it anymore.
