It's in the left side of my left foot and kind of on the top but not on the arch or in the toes, though slightly toward the pinky and ring toe as it affects almost the entire left side of my left foot. My husband has diabetes (type 2) and said that this was happening to him too before he found out he has diabetes. I'm definitely mentioning this to my doctor when I go in for my annual wellness exam next month.

I'm having this problem as well in my right foot, a few times a day now. It's warm, so much it feels like the skin should be warm, but it's not.

You are possibly using too tight shoes or socks. This problem comes after months of poor blood pressure in the feet. Check your feet and look for marks made by the socks or shoes. I mean this is one of the possible causes.

I have sharp stabbing pains in my left ankle and arch, and it feels quite hot. It is worse at different times, and the pain even travels up towards my toes occasionally. I keep looking online for some sort of answers, but can't seem to find any. I have even visited my GP but even she didn't know what it was. She just said to try and stay off it and elevate it whenever I can. However, several months on and it is still the same.

Yes I am 25 will be 26 in about 2 weeks (Afrakan female) and I just started to feel the sensation. It's happened a total of maybe 3 or 4 times in a two week span which is why I'm here. And I too only feel heat no pain, in the left arch of the sole of my foot , never the right ... it just heats up noticeably then vanishes, I wonder if its underlying health conditions? I am average weight and height 5'3 130lbs dont smoke or drink, just a horrible diet (fast food and snacks), but no pork or red meat .. I think I do want to see or ask someone in holistic medicine and healing what it could mean ... glad so many other people are just as confused because now the reward of discovery will be greater :)

I am 38 and for the past 3 weeks have started to feel this warm sensation on the top outer part of my feet. It's like I have a warm heating pad on that part of the foot. No pain just heat. I am on my feet all the time so maybe it has to do with me having bad circulation cuz sometimes the toes go numb too.

Hey, i am 19 and have this happen every day while sitting or in bed barefoot. I have fibromyalgia so, i believe this is due to nerve damage. Young people hurt too.

I also just started to have that same sensation on my left foot. It is sporatic and can happen anytime of the day and it only lasts about 30 seconds. I do have slight circulation issues as my feet are always cold but nothing serious. I have only read some things about it possible being a nerve issue or defiencency in vit b 12.... hmmmm .
Best to chat with my md.

Sometimes, you can correct the issue through self-care. For instance, in some situations, you will find relief by resting and elevating your feet. Changing your shoes may also help a bit – you may even consider soaking your feet in cool water for relief.

1. Neuropathy
Peripheral Neuropathy involves damaged nerve fibers that sometimes misfire and cause a burning sensation. You experience pain because your damaged nerves start sending pain signals to your brain. The leg nerves are the first to experience the damage in neuropathy, which leads to tingling in the feet as well. Sometimes, it leads to hyperesthesia characterized by severe feet sensitivity. The burning pain can be mild or even disabling. Common causes of neuropathy include diabetes, alcohol abuse, Lyme disease, drug side effects, Vitamin deficiency (vitamin B12 or vitamin B6) and Guillain-Barre syndrome.
2. Diabetes
Many people experience tingling sensation in feet due to neuropathy, and neuropathy is the outcome of diabetes in most cases. Diabetic people are more likely to develop peripheral arterial disease as well. It is also difficult for a diabetic to deal with infections. All this often leads to severe foot problems, including gangrene and amputation. Treating the diabetes is the way to treat warm feeling in the foot.
3. Poor Circulation
A blood clot or a circulator disturbance may also lead to burning feet. If you're experiencing warmth in your feet and you notice spider/varicose veins or reddish spots on your ankles, a blood clot is most likely the reason why you're experiencing heat in foot. Peripheral artery disease is a common circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs.
4. Inflammation
Any type of infection or inflammation of the feet may also cause a tingling or burning sensation. Athlete's foot is the most common foot infection with burning sensation to feet.
5. Surgery
You may experience warm or buring feeling in foot several months after gastric bypass surgery. It usually happens because the body cannot absorb B vitamins properly after gastric bypass, which may cause neuropathy in the leg.
6. Restless Leg Syndrome
The burning sensation in your feet can sometimes be a symptom of restless leg syndrome in which you feel like moving your legs, especially at night.
7. Other Causes
In addition to these causes, there can be some others as well. You may experience it due to a chronic kidney disease, small fiber neuropathy, vitamin deficiency, and HIV AIDS. This could also be due to drug side effects, including vitamin B6 overdose, chemotherapy drugs, HIV medicines, amiodarone and more. Lead or metal poisoning, edema, and hypertension are some other common causes of warm feeling in your feet.

I am experiencing this too in my right foot. All of a sudden it feels like a heater as turned on in my sock around the arch area. No pain, just sudden warmth that quickly goes away?

It sounds like a nerve from your back that is causing the issue. A chiropractor can help!

I have had this sensation. I notice it happens when bending over. I don't wear tight shoes. It is on the right side of my right foot each time. It's happened about ten times so far. I think it may be symptomatic of a pending ischemic stroke. I'm concerned it may be a brain tumor because it my brain is misinterpreting and creating a phantom sensation. It feels like I've stepped in warm water on the carpet. It isn't painful but there is no warm water on the floor.
