Same story...I stopped the pill a year ago after 3,5 years. I'm 25 now and been struggling to lose weight since then. I have a horrible bloating in my midsection area looking like pregnant (all day long). I took the pill before when I was younger, but after stopping , nothing happened. I've read everybody's stories in here and I've tried everything. I mean everything! I've been to several doctors and no one helped to the least. I feel horrible... This is so unfair. I'm afraid there's no other choice rather than going back to the pill. I really don't want to, but I can't stand it any more. I hate all the doctors and the stupid contraceptive pills that brought us to this awful situation. I"ve been fighting with my weight all my life in order to stay steady, cause I have Pcos. Good luck to all of you. You're not alone out there (like doctors make us feel).

So, I thought I'd post what I have done this past week after reading these posts and having the same issue. I had the same exact experience except I had elective partial hysterectomy (ovaries stayed!) due to major heavy bleeding and fibroids my entire life. I was only taking generic Beyaz and wanted off all meds to give my body a break and was hoping to lose some weight because I feel like, despite running constantly, I can't drop weight while on the pill. The pill has been my saving grace from getting anemic all over again. I'm 48 and thought I can't stay on this forever, can't be good. Also, I have been told that I have PCOS years ago due due symptoms of facial hair, irregular periods. Ovaries were fine. The pill helped a lot in those areas.

I had the partial hysterectomy on May 3rd, 2018, weighed 203lbs. Once again, hoping to lose weight post pill. No lifting nothing for 6 weeks so I was feeling achy and tired, very unlike me but dealt with it. I never have aches and pains. Then, I started to train again attempting to run a couple miles in intervals and also working out. Energy level so low but figured from surgery. One thing that took me by surprise is the achiness in my joints, really off the charts. So not me! Once again, I'm thinking from working out and after effects of surgery. But then my breasts were hurting and swelling like no other. Then I knew something was definitely amiss. I swear I went up 1-2 cup sizes! I felt heavy like I had gained a lot of weight. I got on the scale and couldn't believe it. I had gained from May 3rd (the day I stopped taking the pill to July 22 a total of 13 lbs! I felt it was more bloat than weight gain or muscle gain. Everything felt swollen. I felt the weight creep on every week without stopping. I was drinking protein shakes, eating low carb. It seems like once it started there was no stopping. I felt like a sausage. I said heck no! This won't be my summer, 20 lbs or more heavier and feeling bad.

I couldn't get back into my OB quickly (app. is in two weeks) so I got one refill on the pill that I had left and ordered what someone else had mentioned on this post, Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf Extract, good for glucose metabolism. I was desperate to stop the weight gain fast! Was really curious about that one. In 5 days after going back on the pill and taking this supplement I actually took off 2 1/2 lbs without changing anything else and no running. I also don't feel hungry 24/7. My bloated face seems to actually have shape again. This is a quick change which is scary. So, for now, I don't mind taking the pill again until I can get back in to find out what other options there are. Being off it for almost three months I had gained too much weight/bloat and it's something I won't accept as normal. Any other information I can find or figure out I'm happy to pass on. Hope this helps someone.

P.S. forgot to mention that the achiness is going away fast as well.

Did your weight go back? I am now going through this. 115 when I went off the pill in November. Fitness is my passion. I eat clean, don't drink, work out for 120 minutes a day on average on my peloton and weight lifting. Now on Jan 18th I weigh 126. All in my stomach. I am desperate for help.

The first time I went off birth control I gained 30 lbs and I was 22 years old. After a year and no weight loss and many tests saying I was normal, I went back on birth control and magically the weight came right off. The second time I went off birth control I gained 35lbs in a few months. I was 27. I got pregnant at 29, had twins and lost weight again but did not get back down to my on birth control weight. I sit at 185 lbs I track my calories and go to gym 4 times a week. Zero improvement. All my blood tests are perfect.
