What was your treatment?

Low carb, moderate protein. If you're not chubby add fat to your diet as well. I've lost 43 lbs and I'm never hungry. Adding MCT oil to your diet as well can hugely help with stomach fat and extra energy. Always eat it in food though. Otherwise you're in for some pain. Drink LOTS of water.

By low carb I mean 40g net carbs or less per day

I'm with you. I'm actually getting depressed from it. I've tried everything.

The same thing is happening to me right now! I wasn’t on yaz, I was on a different “pill” I took the pill for a little over a year and stopped 3 months ago because I hated how I felt on it, I was constantly moody, eating everything in site, I had major anger problems where I would be so mad I would want to hit things over something so stupid and little. Before I started the pill I had no problems and was 110-115 pounds.. when I stopped taking the pill I was around the 130 range.. which didn’t bother me one bit I was glad I gained some weight because before I looked sick I was so thin. It was a healthy weight gain For me. Now like I said I stopped taking the pill 3 months ago and was about 130 pounds... I am weighing in at 175 now... I’ve gained almost 45 pounds in 3 months... I’m to the point now I’m buying new jeans almost every other week because I grow out of them so fast. I was a size 0-2 when I started taking the pill... I’m almost a size 10 now that I quit.. I can’t wear anything even close to form fitting around my stomach because I look like I’m 5 months pregnant.. it’s not the typical “fat” belly with rolls that saga down it’s a perfectly plump round baby bump belly and constantly bloated.. (no I am not pregnant) my face and shoulders and legs have gained so much too. I fit into absolutely nothing.. even the clothes I bought a few weeks ago I can’t even get close to buttoning my brand new jeans.. I’ve tried eating healthy, tried taking herbs, tried exercising, metabolism pills.. everything and nothing is working.. I’m so tired of people asking if I’m pregnant and I’m so tired of spending so much money on new clothes! I’m not sure what else to do!

well, ladies, I was a steady 140 pounds girl until I stopped the pill. I got 15 extra pounds in 6 months, watching all that I eat and even starving regularly. What I decided to do was go into a one months liver detox using coffee enemas. I made a vegetarian diet regime, juice cleasing vegi soup and salads. After two months I have lost 5 pounds and I started noticing the difference in my appearance.

I decided to google this question because I’ve been on the generic yazmin for 11 years and decided to give my body a rest 3 months ago and I’ve gained 13 lbs and counting. I eat healthy and work out. I do a lot of cardio. After reading this thread I really hate that I will have to get back on the pill but this weight is starting to depress me :-(

Hello ladies! I recommend you try the Keto diet. I’m 29 5’3 and currently weighing 130.7. My current birth control is Norgestimate and Ethintyl Estradiol tablets. I went back on this pill in June 2017 and I gained this weight the previous time I got off the birth control (153.6). I was off of it for 2 years hoping to get pregnant which never happened. I then decided to try the BC for a few months to see if I could lose the weight I gained. I can’t really say if it was the BC because I also started the ketogenic diet at the exact same time. I am now down 23lbs but am also wanting to stop the pill again. Reading these post have me TERRIFIED because I remember gaining the weight the last time and being extremely frustrated. I’m hoping that because I’ve already incorporated the ketogenic diet I will not experience the bloating and weight gain. I plan to stop the birth control either Dec or Jan and will update you ladies on if I gain the weight back again like all of you are experiencing. Keto has been the ONLY thing to work for me since gaining the weight but I was also back on BC so I’m super nervous! LOW CARB, MODERATE PROTEIN, HIGH FAT! It’s extremely beneficial for PCOS and Type II Diabetes, Insulin Resistance which I imagine several ladies are suffering from atleast one.

I've experience massive bloating and weight gain after years on the implanon in the past. I'm now on the mini pill which has made me gain weight and wanting to stop next month. I'm considering getting some of the supplements the blog above recommends. I've also heard of that women having success with acupuncture and Chinese herbs.

For all those who are thinking of going back on the pill to stop the side effects, please don't. The pill caused your hormones to get out of whack in the first place!! You can't stay on the pill forever and it will only mean that your symptoms will be even worse the next time you come off it. Yes it can take a while to get your hormones to return to normal after all the disruption that contraception causes, be patient. Try seeing a licensed naturopath to get some herbs like Vitex Agnus Castus which helps with hormone normalisation, which can speed things up a lot. And read "The Period Repair Manual", by Lara Briden.

I'm happy I came across this because I've been feeling crazy after gaining 25lbs in 6 months. I was on the same birth control for 10 years and suddenly had high blood pressure so she made me quit it and I had the non hormonal IUD placed. I haven't felt right since, constantly bloated feeling and then the weight. I've even started taking adipex for the weight loss but I haven't lost a pound! I've now had the IUD for a year now so I know it's not my "body still getting used to the hormones" Anyone have a fix yet???

I’m going to the same exact thing never had any weight issues I’ve gained almost 20 pounds in the last year I’m healthy and active belly that I have is driving me crazy. Plus I’m 42 and feel like I’m winning this battle. Grrrr
i was born in Peru so I will research Maca.
It is sad to me that so many women take birth control and aren’t aware of what it is doing to their bodies.
