Yes, I had the same problem. I was eating relatively healthy, even better than when on the pill, but felt like I had this gigantic belly. Even after one normal natural cycle, it remains, I thought my body would be " happy" to not have that junk in it anymore and instead it feels like it's whacked out(in technical terms of course:) )
Yes, I took Beyaz for 2 months and stopped it about 3 months ago. Since then, I have steadily gained (11 lbs so far). I never had a problem keeping weight off before this. Now I'm working out (getting enough calories) and gaining, wtf?! I'm afraid I'll keep gaining too. I'm only 5'3, so 11 lbs and counting is alarming.
I am having the exact same problem! I stopped taking Jolessa in June and have gained over 10 pounds all in my stomach...I have been dieting and exercising more than when I was on the pill and keep gaining!! If anyone has anything that will help please let me know!
I'm getting the same thing, especially the belly bloating. i cant stop gaining weight despite eating a lot less and exercising a whole lot more. i am so unconfortable beacuse of the belly fat. Ive never had this before. I hope you got answers.
I'm so happy I found this thread. I finally feel like I'm not insane! I've gained 15 lbs in the last 5 months since stopping the pill. I was on bc for about 10 years. No amount of diet and exercise has helped...I've tried every trick in the book. I hope someone finds a solution to this...
I'm 20 and was on depo since I was 16 and Ive been off of it since October and I've gone from 115 to 128 and it has me looking swollen in my face and thighs. I'm not liking it one bit.
Really glad I found this post, I thought I was going crazy. I only took the pill for about 6 months (Crystelle) sp? It made me feel like I was going crazy, severy mood swings, panic attacks, etc. Which I had never experienced before. Stopped taking it in August and have gained 20 lbs withough any changes to my previously normal routine, and it's all in my belly I look 7 months pregnant. I've weighed this much once before in my life but at the time wore a 12 and now the 18s I borrowed from a friend are tight just because all the weight is in my huge bloated belly!!!! I don't have insurance so haven't been to the doc, don't know what to do.
did it get better???
On the same boat, but I was only on it for a year.. I'm at my wits end
Hey I am currently having the same problem and just read your posts. Can you tell me if you were having a hormonal issue and what the natropath suggested?
I am so glad I found this. I am 24 years old, and was diagnosed with PCOS at 21. I eat healthy, work full time, always on my feet. I have always been a little thicker, 170ish, but muscular and healthy. I have been on YAZ and then switched to Sprintec since the age of 17.
I quit taking my sprintec exactly a month ago and the scales are at 200 pounds, yes 200 pounds. I have cut back my food intake, walked every night, took diet pills, and water pills. The scales just keep going up.
Being polycystic I understand I will have weird hair growth, all of that stuff. But this has been overwhelming. The only thing I know to do is go back on the birth control. I do not see a way out of this. The extra weight has took me from a size 8-10 to a 14 in under a month.
I hope someone has found an answer.
I have been having this problem too. I took Yaz for 8 years (I'm almost 27) and decided to stop last August because my husband and I decided to start trying to conceive. Since August, I have gained between 15 and 20 pounds, mostly right around my middle. Like other posters, I feel bloated most all of the time. I have gone from a size 8 to a size 12 in five months. My eating habits have remained the same from before, actually better because I've been trying to lose weight, to no avail. I also started a 3-4 day a week, 1.5 hour at a time, workout regimine, and continued to GAIN weight. I asked my Gyn nurse if she had heard of other women complaining about this problem, and she said no. All my bloodwork is normal. I wish I knew the answer to this problem. I was prepared to gain weight when I was pregnant, not when I was trying to get pregnant. If anyone has some tips or answers, that'd be wonderful.
I am so glad I found this. I have stopped taking birth control for about 5 months now, after taking it for 3 years. After 2 months I started noticing some weight gain. I have always fluctuated between 125-130 lbs. I am now at the heaviest I have ever been, to the point where I dont even fit into my clothing. I checked the scale last night and it said 156.. I have never been this unhappy with myself in a long time. I eat right, I workout 5 times a week, and everyday the pounds just keep adding on. I have tried everything from water retention pills, to not eating at all, and nothing is helping. I have made an appointment with an endochronologist to check my horomes, and see if anything is wrong.
If anyone has found a solution to this, PLEASE let me know :(
Good luck to you all.
I am also in the same boat. Stopped the pill (yasmin) and put on nearly 15kg (33lb) in a year. Didnt change my diet at all. In fact i am probabaly eating better now (sticking to 1200 calories a day and running). Have been to the doctor and have had all the tests/scans and everything is normal. I am really upset because i went off the pill as my partner and i wanted to try for a baby but now i am so fat that im not in the right condition to even have a baby!!
