It is very possible that sunken eyes and dark circles can be either cured or significantly diminished with meditation or yoga. Additionally, eating properly, staying hydrated, getting enough rest and, again, eating properly should also do the same, while obviously having extremely positive effects on your overall health and well-being as well.

If you have sunken eyes from conditions germane to malnutrition (e.g. eating disorders, drug abuse, malabsorbtion or conditions preventing you from gaining weight or maintaining a healthy one, etc.), then you must focus on those underlying or original issues first in order to see results. Other conditions such as chronic or long-term stress and depression will show in your face as well because of what's going on inside -- thus, as noted, it reflects in your face. The functioning of various organs is affected through chronic stress and related conditions, and I guarantee you that stressing about how you look will only make it much worse.

Also, if you're a smoker............. you need to quit immediately... of course it's difficult to do for many, but 10 years down the line you don't want to look like you're 107 when you're really 30, in a pit of regret and sorrow, crying out "I should have quit since reading this post and it's too late!" ... well, if you live to see '10 years down the line' -- which obviously isn't as promising for a smoker -- then it won't be too late to quit and work on your health; HOWEVER, you will still look very old for your age, and this time not in a nicely 'matured' way.

Bottom line: become healthy (consult a licensed medical practitioner for help), kick bad habits that decrease your lifespan to the curb, meditate/do yoga (and the medical practitioners of the East -- e.g. those who practice meditation, yoga, and a healthy lifestyle-- tend to have great tips as well), and eat properly.

One more important point: According to Michael A. Persky, MD, "Unfortunately there is not a great remedy for dark skin under the eyes [but] I would recommend letting nature take it's course. Your skin should return to it's baseline". It is reasonable to assume that working on your overall health, whether it be through eating properly or exercising, will help you get back to the skin you would have as a healthy person, with it's natural/regular/true baseline.

p.s. vitamins are okay but it's best not to take that short-cut... You should get these vitamins naturally through food!

Good luck! But you shouldn't need it... You should make the change TODAY and STICK WITH IT!

Yes I recently had a problem w/this... was drinking too much tea in the hot weather and coffee and tea are diuretics... To create a hydration drink just take 1 litres of water (33 oz) and add 6 tsp of sugar and 1/2 tsp of baking soda... according to the Mayo Clinic this should do the job... but might have to drink a bunch for a week or two...drink as much as you can because sunken eyes is a symptom of "severe" dehydration which could put you in the hospital... the other symptom is a white tongue... like its painted.

You can drink plenty of water and still be dehydrated, if you are running a low grade fever and don't realize it, sweating out more than what you are taking in, or even have a urinary tract infection and not even realize it.

Stress is one of the causes of sunken eyes, along with mental strain or heredity. As we age, we tend to have sunken eyes, especially if we are stressed out. Improper diet, weakness, tiredness and also lack of sleep also play a major role in causing sunken eyes. There are medical treatments for this condition, however, home remedies are also advised. Here are some home remedies you can apply and put in your eye. Raw potato, Almond Oil, Warm or cold tea bags and the very common Cucumber. It is also important to rehydrate yourself.

I have noticed this in my eyes when my thyroid shut down...it also caused me to have sleep apnea...and when a body doesn't sleep you get that sunken tired eye look..I now have a sleep apnea machine..when I get a good nights sleep it helps

I have this problem too, but mine is above the eyes. Doesn't matter how much I hydrate. The only thing that seems to help is yes, sleep, but I have to practically sleep with my head buried in my pillow, which makes my face puff up. I had gotten into the habit of avoiding contact with my face on my pillow, because I read that it causes wrinkles! But then I noticed my eyes became caves! So when I started REALLY sleeping with my face on my pillow, my eyes puffed up just enough to get rid of this gosh awful cave look!!!

Why u r conning the most vulnerable amongst us. THERE IS NO MIRACLE CURE, yr claims r untrue. The only way to lose weight is firstly to establish that u have a normal hormone balance in yr body, exercise and a healthy diet. Stop lying to the public, u r a disgrace.

The same thing happened to me. My skin under my eyes are now wrinkled and my eyes sunk in right after LASIK. I told the doctor and he said he never heard that happening. I have before and after pics that are 3 months apart and you would think it was more like 3 years
