I had a hemithroidectomy 19 years ago. The superior larngeal nerve as damaged so that is functioned about 40%. Lately swallowing and speaking for any lengthy period have become difficult.
Is this to be expected? And how can I better cope with it?
Thank you.
Hi:
It sounds like it would be expected, due to the nerve damage. It would seem that it would function well for as long as expected either. Perhaps, after so many years there may be new techniques that can support your current condition. 19 years is a long time in the world of science/medicine. Find a doctor/surgeon who specializes in this area to see what might be available to you now. Good luck...I think you will be successful in your search...Please let us know what the possible solutions are for you.
