I had my haemorrhoidectomy done abt 2 weeks ago. the first 10 days or so my bm is often bloody, dry and need to go to the toilet a few times a day. its painful and my anal has became tighter. i find that when i urine, theres some pain in the anal. tried sitz bath to lessen the pain which works but not always.

as i have a tight lower back i tried to stretch it for the past 2 days. out of the 3 times i stretched, i had bm twice and my anal has loosen which i can feel when i wipe. i stretch my back by placing towels below my lower back. u can roll or fold 2to3 towels. sit down on the floor. place the towels just behind your butt. slowly lie down on them. stretch your arms out above your head, hands faing down. toes point inwards.

the height of the towels should be comfortable enough for you to have an aching or relaxing stretch but not too painful. initially you can try to adjust the towel height and do it for 2to3 min. when you are comfortable, you can increase to 5 or more. just be careful.

i have try to massage my muscle and spine at the lower back. i find the it does lessen the pain. guess they are connected.

about 3 weeks after my surgery, there is still a lump at the wound and my anus is tight. so decided to explore the lump. it is very sore. so i tried to massage it at the base where it feels the tightest. Inititally, it feels very painful but the more i massage the pain lessens.

the lump shrink back into the anus as i massage it. together with warm water dip, the wound has recovered much faster.

Piyush94, I'm not sure who you were asking. I developed stenosis after my surgery December 2012. My doctor saiud it's all better but my muscles have weakened so now I'm having physical therapy to improve that. Ive been taking laxatives or stool softeners every day since my hemorrhoid surgery, so hope this will taske care of the problem.

I had a hemorroidectomy back in March of 2008. Have been to multiple Dr's, had 2 sphincterotomies, anal dilation and having so much pain. I was told I probably have Stenosis from the Hemorroidectomy. The pain is unbearable when going to the bathroom and wonder what it will feel like to not have pain when going to have a BM. I know what you are going through. After the hemorroidectomy, I was sorry I did it too. Especially, now I find out that the surgery causes stenosis.
Hope you feel better.

Do most hemorrhoidectomys end in stenosis? I had my hemorrhoidectomy 4 weeks ago and have developed moderate to severe stenosis. It's truly hell on earth. I was given a 23mm dilator and was told to use it 2x a day for two weeks. At the end of the 2 weeks I am supposed to be able to get it all the way in. Yeah right! I don't see that happening. Any truth to the theory that anal stenosis can cure itself simply by the stretching that occurs with bowel movements?

Mine was so bad that they couldn't even examine me with their little finger. I screamed in pain! I switched to a colon/rectal surgeon and recommended dilation under anesthesia to speed things up. I bled with the first one, but the next two I only had some discomfort for a few days. Unfortunately, I developed a rectocele from all the straining and that is now my main problem. If you're a female, pray you don't get this! I feel fortunate I didn't need surgery for the stenosis, but now I'm facing surgery for the rectocele. I'm going to put it off as long as possible, because I'm worried about scar tissue forming again and starting the whole cycle over again.

Good luck!

Go with your gut and get a second opinion I also went through the same thing. I had hemorrhoids removed in and out and my doctor would not return my calls, I has about 2 inches of internal stitches hanging out for 5 days and finally had to go to the emergency room to get them removed from my doctor she was there doing surgery and the other e.r doctor made her come take them out. My stool was the size of a pencil and I felt impacted stool. She did 2 rectal dilation 1 in the e.r and one in her office with no sedation at all and I almost died, she said she would do it everyday if she had to to make my stool normal. I went for a second opinion and he set me up for surgery the next day to do the dilation and remove scat tissue. pain after was horrible but I am able to have a normal size stool. Still hurts like hell and I have a follow up tomorrow but a 2nd opinion was the best thing I ever did. The 1st doctor really screwed me up.
