I have periodic unexplained pain, swelling and bruising of the middle joints in my fingers. This has occurred for a couple of years. Its usually the middle finger, pointer finger or thumb (not all at the same time). I will be doing some routine tasks in the kitchen while grocery shopping and suddenly feel tightening and tingling in that digit. Yesterday I had terrible pain in the joint in my pointer finger - 12 hrs later no pain but still swollen and the bottom third of my finger is purple along with a dime size bruise just below my finger on my palm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am a healthy 54 yr old female. Thanks.
