I have a problem with a swollen scrotum that started about two monthes ago the swelling would come and go however over the last week my scrotum is swelling at an alarming rate, there is no pain only discomfort at the size i have been for a scan that did not show any explaination. I have had a heart by operation and i am on the tablet fusimide to rid the body of water on the doctors advise i have increased the dose from 2 to 4 tablets, this certaily gets me to the toilet to pee, but i still have not seen a reduction of the swelling and in fact seems to be getting worse. any advise you could give me would be appreciated.

Do you think your swollen scrotum has anything to with a heart surgery? Did it start at about the same time or not? When I first went to see urologist, they asked if I had problems with heart failure.

I had problems with swelling as well. The swelling would come and go. It didn’t hurt either. I went to see a urologist, he did a physical on me and then I had transillumination. I was diagnosed with hydrocele. They did some drainage but there was reoccurrence. I am thinking about the surgery now.

How’s your heart now? When the urologist that I saw asked me if I had heart problems, he told me that he thought of a condition in which the heart can’t pump out the blood, which causes accumulation of blood and fluids. I can’t remember the exact name now, it was something like congestive problem or something-I am not sure.

The surgery I am considering is hydrocelectomy. I became less anxious when they said I would be fast asleep. That was a relief. They are gonna check the fluid and the testicle to see if there is a disease or an infection or something.

I mean I had it drained once and it reappeared. Although I dred surgeries, it seems to me that this is the only permanent solution as they will make sure during the surgery that the same thing doesn’t happen again.
