I have a hard, (mostly) painless bump on the back of my head. I think it's a lymph node.

I read on this site that it is a body's response to infection somewhere.

But I feel very good and nowhere on or in my body can I find any sort of infection or illness that would cause it?

Im a 20 year old male in good health...

Hallo,

First things first, there are no age related groups when it comes to lymph nodes. They can get swollen in babies and grandparents. And when they do it’s not a good thing.

You are right about the infection they are a symptom of some infection in the body. But this can vary from common cold, or ear infection or strep throat or wound infection. A good thing to know is that they can get back to normal without any treatment. However, it is not nice to know that you have some infection and not knowing what it is. My suggestion is that you run some tests. Or you can test yourself at home. See if you have problems with pain in ear or throat.

Hello Karel, If I were you I would call your doctor because this might be a serious sign of cancer of other infections.
