My left side of my face has been swollen for the past 30 days. Orginally mis-diagnosed as my lymph nodes but after a week I saw another doctor who said it was my saliva gland. I tried the 'sour candy' routine for about 10 days. Temporary relief for pain at best but swelling never subsided. Saw the ENT doctor who immediately agreed it was my saliva gland and ordered an MRI of my neck ASAP.
What is he looking for with the MRI? This has me worried as he kept asking how long this has been happenning. :-(

As far as I can tell, it's best not to read anything further into it. It sounds like you have a swollen gland and he's trying to just determine what the cause is. If you want, you can ask him to find out what it is just to allay your concerns. What do you think?
