Hello Everyone,

Well, i have had a tyroidectomy about 7 years ago with radiation. I have been bodybuilding for 9 years now. I have been taking my synthroid everyday as recommended. I wil tell you, i do have alot of muscle and i don't know if it is because of my genes but i am really ripped. I am a 43 yr old female that loves bodybuilding and won't miss the gym for anything. So, anyway, just now i have been experiencing bloating and pain. It is so bad i feel like admitting myself to the hospital. I am currently going to several doctors to see what my problem is. I am on a bodybuilding diet but no matter what i eat i seem to have problems more frequent now. Some nights i can't even sleep because i wake up with terrilbe abdominal pains and bad bloating. This is extremely so disappointing for me and fustrating. I do want to enter in a bodybuilding show and i hope i can get my abs back. I will tell you, the only way you guys i can get my abs back is to be on a liquid diet. I know this sounds crazy. I think i might have to do that but i am terrilby worried about my health. I am in great health , thank god. I just had a blood test at my doctor's office and everything appears fine. Another thing is my doctors won't blame it on the syntroid about my boating. Just reading on this site, it does seems like everyone is saying that the bloating is the medication. I truely believe that now. Thanks to you all for putting the information out there. It has been very helpful to me. I just wanted to share this all with you people. Let me know what you think. Waiting for you people to reply back...thanks and have a wonderful day...a note to all of you, just keep your body moving and stay on top of your diet. I wish you all the luck.. god bless you all. It is a struggle for me but is will fight this battle. You can see it in my muscularity. If you would like a picture of me let me know. I would be happy to e-mail anyone a picture of me.
Thyroid is not a joke. It's really not something you should be screwing around with (such as supplementing t3/t4) ESPECIALLY if you are under no medical professionals watch. I never realized the importance of my thyroid until I did not have one. It is so vital and controls so much of your body you would not even believe it. I understand the frustration and the desire to lose weight. but messing with your thyroid is not something I would ever recommend to people unless its under their doctors advice.
