What constitutes a heart problem? That doesn't sound correct at all. Unless you have an underlying heart condition, heart "problems" shouldn't be happening at such a low dose. Do you mean increased heart rate? That's a common side effect. re: the weight gain, your appetite is back with a vengeance and you are likely not exercising very much,. That could change over time. Relax.

Basically everybody hates the fact your taking adderall for your freaking 5 pounds of weight loss . it's one of the stupidest things I've seen people do. If you don't have add or ADHD don't freaking take it. Your causing problems for the people who actually need it.

I know this is over a year too late of a response, but for anyone else reading it if you are taking adderall for quick weight loss along with not eating (assuming you are taking more than the prescribed amount given to whoever you got them from) and develop heart palpitations while at rest and/or feeling like your heart is beating so fast you might hyperventilate, dizziness, fainting or any one of the above alone, stop taking so much/ ask your doctor for an ekg immediately. Amphetamines can be extremely damaging to the heart and should really not cause those types of side effects. If you are only taking amphetamines for weigh loss, I would also suggest for a slow but safer appetite suppressor a medication called metformin, it works wonders

I love this reply and couldn't have said it better myself! It's definitely easier to motivate yourself to workout when you start seeing results faster and Adderall is a helpful way to jumpstart that! People just need to be cautious and responsible. There's no need for all the negative posts on here. Nice to see a positive one :)

I don't take this for ADHD or weight loss. I am 14 and weigh 114.3 pounds and I'm 5"0. I take this because I have ADD. But I don't understand how people lose weight while on Adderrol because I haven't lost any and I have been taking it for six months now and have actually gained weight.

Many very reputable doctors prescribe adderall for things other than adhd. Some dr's use it to help jump start weight lose in obese patients who are in need of surgery but must lose weight before they can get the surgery. I take it because I have severe chronic fatigue caused by Lupus and fibromyalgia and without it I can't crawl out of bed and sleep about 19 hours a day. The best thing you can do is mind your own business and let the doctors worry about who they choose to write the scripts for. Maybe those of us with chronic fatigue can't get our scripts because of all you people faking add?! See how ignorant that sounds? My brother in law is a doctor. Almost all meds have off label uses. Wellbutrin, a drug used to treat depression is the exact same drug as Zyban, which is used to treat nicotine addiction. I tried provigil before I was put on adderall but it made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack. So it's best not to judge another person. You're not walking in their shoes and you don't have a medical degree .

Having a masters degree means you have a masters degree nothing more. I earned my masters and can tell you that some of my colleagues were/are not very bright people. Some, like you, probably went to grad school because you failed to find your husband at the undergraduate level. I'm guessing you're from the South. :P

All drug addicts think they rock!
Wait until you end up with psychotic episodes.
You will at least have your memories of how your pills helped you fake being so together.

Yea for real. I have ADHD and I take Adderal XR every day to treat it, if people are going to stigmatize me for having to take medication they are not the sort of people I want in my life. Furthermore, adderal is commonly prescribed for narcolepsy and has been prescribed to obese people with metabolic issues to take off some weight and speed up the metabolism. And finally, if somebody wants to take drugs for reasons other than their intended purpose more power to them!

Hmm... maybe you should exert some self control over your ADHD.

Doesn't sound very nice, does it?

It's very likely that obesity is a deep seated neurological disease, such as your ADHD, and neurobehavioral drugs may benefit the obese just as much as they benefit you.

It wasn't too long ago that people like you were considered slackers with no self-control, too.

So true. This happened to me and I became obsessed and a addict. In the end I gained all my weight back and it messed up my body and stomach so bad. Adderall ruined my life. Day three clean and my family helped by telling my doc to not write scripts ever again. Its a fake world of well being. When you quit after so much tolerance or become obssessed and take all ur meds before renew eventually u will put all that weight back on. I had such a tolerance after a yr it did not help weight loss period. So so so glad I finally got help and off that horrible fake world of a drug! Ill catch up to you!!!!
