It's interesting reading you're reply, telling someone your father is an M.D. then criticizing them for being a "Know It All". From your grammar, you can tell that you certainly didn't take after him from an education standpoint.

You know I have ADHD hence the adderall. I was also perscrided adapex to help jump start my metabolism. I suffer from chronic pain in many areas of my body. It hurts to walk, workout or anything. So at this point my metabolism gas completely botomed out. I have gained 74 lbs in 2 years and continue to gain rapidly. Its not because I don't want to do anything its that I don't have the will power or energy to do it. So if either of these medicines help to jump start my metabolism so that I can start exercising then I will more than likely keep it up. As far as curving my appetite, well I already don't eat a lot and I haven't for 40 years. In the past 2 years is when I've put all this weight on that only makes me feel worse. So for anybody that says these medicines don't do this or don't do that, I'm going to try them along with different types of exercises. If it keeps my belly from hanging down to my knees then I say have at it. By the way, how many are you are actual physicians????? Just sayin.

I was on adderall for a year and I lost 30 pounds in about 1-2 months but after I stopped taking it I gained twice as much back. I do not recommend taking adderall if you do not have ADHD.

As a severe sufferer from ADHD, I can assure you not everyone has ADHD and it is over prescribed

Thank you so much...I am 42, was diagnosed at 37 after 25 plus years of severe panic attacks due to undiagnosed ADHD. Adderall and Vyvanse gave me my life back, but because of those who abuse it, I am constantly fighting with insurance companies who won't approve the meds or the dosage my psychiatrist thinks will be therapeutic. I don't get "speedy" at all...it makes me feel normal and calms my brain, as well as eliminating the anxiety and panic attacks. When i spend two or three weeks untreated every few months because of insurance red tape, all of that returns. I tried to tell my docs for 20 years that I had ADHD, and was treated like an addict or drug seeker. People who abuse drugs make it very hard for those of us who are diagnosed and are taking the medication as prescribed.

I have been diagnosed ADHD since I was in the 3rd grade. Iam now 40 years old w/ 3 children. My two youngest ate ADHD. I myself still go to college and I'm prescribed Adderall. It's not safe to take with out a prescription, it doesn't help with weight loss. It wears off at night and you eat more, actually. My kids and I are on the thicker side. It can cause heart problems, and you could do a lot more harm than good to your body if your not on adderal for medical reasons. Cardio, a work out routine 3-4 days a week FAITHFULLY is what truly works ! Green tea extract speeds your metabolism and protein shakes made yourself with water and that don't exceed 130 calories before & after work outs. Pills are not going to magically make you skinny !
