Can anybody explain to me what is done during a hand surgery that involves tendons and knuckles. Thx in advance!

I suppose you are thinking about the surgeries considering MP joint disease. There are two types of surgery that are commonly performed. The first one is for less severe cases and is called synovectomy or soft-tissue replacement. The second type of surgery is joint replacement and is generally used on more severe cases of MP joint disease. With joint replacement an artificial joint is placed between the bone ends and tendons are repositioned. This procedure allows the finders to straightened and the drift is corrected.
