Hi all,

For the past 3 or so years I have had random flare ups of a undiagnosed throat pain that starts off very distant but then proceeds to worsen over the course of 2/3 days, and then taper off for another 2/3 days. The first day I can only notice it when I take very deep breathes in, at the very end I feel a almost dull pain around my lungs/throat area where the collarbones meet the throat. It then proceeds to get far worse, causing me discomfort when changing positions sleeping, and from sitting to standing, and vice-versa. The pain feels like it almost worsens when my heartbeat quickens up slightly. On the first day I also have aches usually all over my body, originating from the neck muscles. At this time I am rendered almost unable to run at all or lightly jog. This pain persists for 2 or so days, then tapers off. The pain is the worst at breathing.

Recently I have went to a emerg after several (I'd say 10) appointments with my family doctor who has no clue what it could be and has only offered up ibuprofen as a possibly remedy, which also does not work. X-rays and ultrasounds of the chest area have also come back without any possible clues. At the emerg the doctor pinpointed a heart issue (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) which I am almost certain is not the cause either, given my extensive athletic background in the past. I am scheduled for a echocardiogram soon and I am hoping they find nothing there either (for my sake).

Has anyone had something similar to this before? Flared up once every 4-5 months earlier, recently has been more frequent, every 1-2 months. I don't know of any triggers as I do not recall what I was always doing prior to the flare ups. I do know it wasn't always the same thing.

If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
