Hello, i am 16 and over the last year developed a throat problem. it has gotten worse over time and up until 2-3 months ago i just ignored it.

at first i felt as if i was choking and would have to take a break while eating to let the food go down. as time went on it took longer for the food to go down and became more frequent.

within the last month i have gotten very bad. iv had trouble every time i eat. now within about 2 weeks i have had such bad problems. i find myself rarely able to eat and if i can i am most likely throwing it up within a few seconds. even at times i don't eat i sometimes have a lot of saliva and mucus build up in my mouth, i cant swallow it because it causes me to choke on that just like food. and unlike before when it was less severe, it now has been lasting 1-2 days of a choking feeling even hours after i eat the food or drink it lasts.

my doctors cant figure it out, I'm praying someone can.
I had a simular problem as a youth...I dont remember a chocking problem but I rememer having access saliva in my mouth all the time, often after eating or even just drinking water. I would feel sick unless I would spit out the saliva all the time....its like I had to much acid in my stomach maybe...my doctor couldnt figure it out either it just eventually went away on its own. At the time I had horrible eating habits though and it could of contributed to it I really don't know.

Bananas make mucus, so if you have been eating them, don't eat any more and see if the mucus goes away.

I have the same problem; have had this for a few years now. Its to the point where I am afraid to eat anything. I feel like food is between my throat and the stomach and it won't "go down"; very uncomfortable. Have ended up vomiting because of this. Can any help?

I have the same problem as you word for word, but I am not as severe as you yet. Earlier today I was eating and felt like I couldn't breathe. I was waiting for it to go away before eating again but it wouldn't and I threw up mucus I think? The only thing doctors could think of is EoE but now I don't think that is it.

I have been consistently having this same exact issue for years now. I thought it was a gluten allergy... So I backed off. I changed from eating pescatarian to a regular more carnivore diet, hasn't helped. I've taken digestive supplements- hasn't helped. What I can say is that I am an anxious person and my mindset mid have something to do with it. Eating in a hurry- not drinking enough water, eating standing up, and eating starchy foods along proteins kick it in every time.
I went to a holistic health practitioner and she said to get allergy testing to see if I'm eating something my body is rejecting. I still need to do this, but I feel its a combination of everything. I am miserable. I cry at every meal and I feel like I can't eat anything anymore because im going to vomit it up immediately with a ton of throat blocking mucus. I hate this so much but maybe its teaching me to be more in touch with my body and mindful when I eat.
