i have been experiencing a pain under my right front rib towards the centre under my breast for a week now, shortly after the pain started my chest started to get tight when i lay down or take a sharp breath the pain starts again and last around 20 mins and my chest also tightens, saw a Dr last week who gave me anti inflammatorys but these have not worked and he did not say what he thought it was the pain and tightness have not changed even with co-codamol. has anyone any ideas on what i can do now thank you

In my opinion you need to see your doctor again, if the medications which you are prescribed are not working the best possibility is to change the therapy. I am very surprised to hear that your doctor hasn’t told you the diagnosis and he prescribed you anti-inflammatory medications.
All in all, your symptoms are signs of numerous conditions and it is very hard to determine what is really going on, so I presume that your doctor will have to do some additional tests. My sister had similar symptoms, and in her case she was diagnosed with broken rib. The treatment was resting and some painkillers. I hope this was helpful, and that you will resolve your problem soon.
