This is the worst thing I could have ever did to myself!!! I'm 26 and I had my tonsills and adrenoids removed thursday!  I was put back in the hospital that same night for vomitting and was kept until Saturday.  My throat is white and it still hurts a lot but what is scaring me the most is when the mucous gets clogged up in my throat and it feels like it is going to close up on me.  Is there any advice as to how I can make this go away or lessen, and get better faster.  I am completely miserable.

I am sorry you had to go through a tonsillectomy and you are now having trouble with mucous.  It is essential that you stay hydrated.  The more you can drink, all the better.  This will keep your mucous from getting sticky and causing you to cough.  Fluids with keep the mucous thin so that you won't feel it accumulating in your throat.  You may want to drink some water with lemon and honey to clear any mucous that is hanging around in there.  I hope you are able to take in liquids o.k. without too much trouble.  This will be your best thing to get to healing quicker as well.

I know it usually takes around 2 weeks before you start feeling a lot better. I wish I could say it would be sooner. Every day should be a little better than the previous day though. I wish you the best recovery!
