Hi, I'm 13 years old, and had a tonsillectomy last week. I'm now on day six. I was wondering-when should I expect the scabs to come off? Is it painful? And if so, is there anything I could do to lessen that pain, or anything I should expect?
Thank you very much, i'm very worried! :-(

Hi kieraCULLEN,

Having your tonsils out at that age is not really nice. I remember when my brother had his out, and he was only 12 years old. I was lucky and still have mine. He went through four weeks of hard healing process. His first week was worst, and in the second week he was feeling better. If I remember correctly his scabs came done at the end of second week and during the third it was all gone. He said that it was painful. But he at that time he eat a lot of ice cream. It helped with the pain. Do you eat ice cream? What do you eat now? I know most of the food is painful to swallow.
