I had my implanon removed on December 15, 2009 after having it for almost 3 years (less than 1 month less than 3 years) and have still not become pregnant yet. Still trying but very hopefull that I have read that others have generally become pregnant after what appears to be 3 months. I have had 2 cycles that lasted 3-4 days so we know the that works .... please keep us in your prayers.

I think woman are blaming this implanon for eating to much, the implanon doesnt control what you put in your mouth!

hi there i have 2 children and my 1st oregnancy was a mis miscarrage. after my 1st child i got the implanon in and my periods stopped completely i had it in for a year and a few months and had it removed for my 2nd child 3 days after it was removed i fell pregnant with my 2nd child no periods or anything. now its been two years and yet again i had the implant in and had it removed last september its been just over six months and have had irregular periods since bloods have come back normal and it seems i just have to be patient!
my opinion is that every woman is different with the implant some have periods irreglular ones even none at all but my doctor has said to me and it says on info about it that its should not effect your hormones after its removed as it mainly for stopping ur egg from releasing, once its removed thats the hormone removed too. as for itchyness around arm i would have it seen too if u have it still in or out i have an implanon placed in to my muscles by mistake and they had to remove it as it was sitting on my nerve also the itchy nesss is a sign that u mite have celulitous and skin infection that can get very bad, propbably due to contamination of needles and what not. i had cellulitous and its really not nice please get it checked.
babbled on abit but just some info for any1 that wants to ask questions
i'm trying to concieve my 3rd child and have been trying for 6 months since havin implanon out 2nd time lucky hopefully this time too good luck to everyone! xx :-D

It is fine to have it removed so soon. I would definately recommend getting it checked out anyway, as you shouldn't be experiencing pains in your arm. Good luck x

OK implanon sucks!!! its the worst thing i did was get that placed in my arm. i got it in April 2008 its been the worst two years and i cant wait other year so I'm getting it removed.. i know everyone's different but i have gained weight and also lots of mood swings and my period all the damn time i have it two months straight with just one day rest. ( husband not happy) and to top it off i had to get surgery twice on my left knee because of these tumors that keep appearing. well when i get in removed will write again about that experience.

Hi everyone! I am new to this but wanted to share my story. I had the implanon in for 3 years when i was 18 and never had any problems! I am pretty sure after having it removed i only had 1 cycle before becoming pregnant with my first daughter! 4 months after she was born i found i was pregnant again!! I welcomed my second daughter into the world almost 3 years ago. 4 months after she was born i got the implanon in again and again had no problems. My partner and i wanted to try for baby no. 3 so i got it removed on 6th April this year, had a normal cycle on 9th April and thought i would have another cycle on 7th may but nothing yet!! I have no idea if my cycles are regular or how far apart they are supposed to be because of my history, but would have thought i would have had one by now?? Have done a few home tests but all neg and had a blood test 4 days ago and neg! Could i still be pregnant????

Hi, I had the same thing so after reading this, I'm guessing its normal after the Implanon is removed. I had mine removed on March 24th 2010 (the day i finished that months period) and about two weeks later I bled quite lightly for a day or two (which I noticed as strange, on top of it being too early, since my periods are quite heavy and last around 6 days). That 'mini period' has knocked my regular cycle out by a week or so but now everythings back to normal.

I was just wondering if you were pregnant or not? I have been on implanon for 1.5 years and after reading what everyone says I'm scared of not getting pregnant right away. So I was just curious as to what happened?

i believe this 2, i had my implanon removed 4 years ago & after 4 years of constant trying i am still not pregnant, i am now building a law suit against the makers of implanon as doctors can find no reason for my infertility, i would not advise anyone to use the implanon implant unless you never want to have any children !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, new to this :-) I think I'll just share my experience before asking the questions ...
I have had the implanon for a few mths over a year now. I was so stressed out after my second child was born that I was going to have an unplanned pregnancy (2 children - 19mths apart and I found it so hard to be relaxed while making love), I debated with my husband for 6mths (we both didnt like the idea of using un-natural contraception) I finally choose to use 'hormonal' contraception. I decided I needed to make the best choice for myself. I looked into all types of con. and tried to consider what was going to be best for me, my lifestyle etc. Once I decided I went for it. (it wasn't inserted until 1 yr after I had the 2ndchild) I was very nervous about getting the implanon, but now I dont regret my choice. I wish I got it in sooner. I was a little irrational at the beginning. I have put on 8kgs in the time I've had it. But I dont blame the imp. I did and still do notice it has increased hunger, but at the end of the day, its what I put in my mouth and the lack of exercising that has really caused it.
I had some heavy periods, and some spotting but after about 6mths I noticed things started to settle. Patience is the key :-) At the beginning every so often I would feel a slight pinch in my arm where it was inserted for a few months. But its fine now. I now have regular periods every 4weeks. I think it has been great. If you are gaining weight, exercising can balance all that out. AND most exciting part of all, I am having the best sex of my life now LOL Cant believe I actually wrote that but seriously, it has done favors for me in that department. After we had baby number 2 I could only get the big 'O' when I was ovulating (obviously because I was fertile/keen) I dont think it increased or lowered my libido, I just think I'm much more relaxed and easy going about it all, knowing that were all safe.
Now that the kids are a little older we are planning on trying for our 3rd after the new year (I have an appt to remove imp next month/oct) Im hoping to get a period or 2 in between so my hormones and body get back in the swing of things...and I am currently exercising again :-) Love exercising, dont know why I choose to get so lazy (hopefully I can shed all if not more) before falling preg. I was wondering how soon after should I expect my period/fertility to return. I never had any probs getting preg with our children (hence the reason why I was so paranoid) I have heard that it returns within a month. How long did it take to get pregnant (and if it was your first baby) I have a hard time believing implanon causes infertility. But in time I guess I will find out :-)
By the way, I am planning on using the implanon again after we have our 3rd because I have had no troubles with it. Hopefully it will be as nice to me the 2ns time round as it has been this time.
All the best :-)
