Dear Misty, I also had a tubal ligation some 4 years ago. My periods also stopped alltogether. It was just only in this month that I got a period for the first time. I was told that I am in menopause and seriously I have been getting night sweats and cold chills. I have gained weight around my waist . I am 45 now and my opinion is that when a woman gets a tubal ligation her body automatically goes into menopause whether she is 20 or older. You will have to learn to live with the symptoms. There is some good medication in the chemists that you can buy. Try menoclove forte and use a good multivitamin.

It sounds like you have an incisional hernia. Don't bother with your OB again, as they refuse to admit that their mistake caused you discomfort. Speak to your GP who can refer you to the appropriate specialist. They are not uncommon and are often undiagnosed until they become a real issue. The abdominal lining is compromised by the weak scar tissue, allowing your intestines/ intestinal wall to protrude through your incision. Sounds far nastier than it actually is. I've had the EXACT same symptoms with mine. Best if luck!

I had a tubal ligation exactly four years ago, and I have abdominal swelling and much more syntoms, and became a night mare, hands and feet numb. I did TL yesterday, and after reading all the posts i am hysterical. I am 15 pounds and I have maintained that weigh for over 10 years. Today I am bloated and I look like I am 5 months pregnant. Is that permanent?
I had to do the TL cuz I got pregnant from an IUD and it was an ectopic pregnancy, a painful one. So I promised never to get pregnant again so did a TL.

I got my tubes tie four years ago & I had a cycle three weeks ago but I had sex & now I'm having stomach pain here and there but it look like I'm four or five months pregnant. I had my tubal a year ago and have same symptoms as well. Abdominal swelling and 20lb weight gain. Self confidence is pretty much destroyed. Have you found any answers or solutions? It's crazy reading all this. I had my tubes tied 10 months ago after my c section. I too have zero sex drive and a bloated tummy. I look 5 months pregnant all the time. I was wondering if it was from the tl and if anyone else had similar side effects and other looks like they do. I wish I never did it. I feel like I messed up my own body's natural flow.
