Two Positive Pregnancy Tests, Two Negative Blood Tests!!!

I am so glad I am not alone I keep thinking I am going crazy! Well, this is my situation...yesterday I ended up in the ER with violent pains near my bladder and started bleeding. I was in so much pain they had to knock me out!

Rewind a bit...I had a miscarriage about 2 months ago, when I went to the ER then they said everything had passed, no D&C nothing... well for the last 3 weeks I've been getting major headaches, my breasts are sore and bigger, my girlyparts are sore as well, I've been nauseous, all the signs of pregnancy but I had taken 2 tests within those 3 weeks and they came back negative. So last Wed. I had gone to the Dr. for a check up and he did a pregnancy test and urniary track infection test. He said the the pregnancy test was negative but I had an infection (which is weird cuz I had no symptoms of one). ANyway for sh**s & giggles I took another pregnancy test, 4 tests later they were all positive that same night.

So the next few days I got progressively worse with the headaches and pains, that's when I ended up in the ER. They did an ultrasound and urine/blood tests and told me that the result was the same..negative pregnancy positive infection. Today I woke up and I think started my period, I feel okay right now aside from a headache but my body is still freaking out on me. All the signs of pregnancy are here including some weird ones, like I noticed my jewelry(real silver and gold) are turning my ears and fingers colours, I am getting brown spots in certain areas of my body, my hair is changing colour, and my face is breaking out.

I don't know what to think. They gave me an anti-biotic to take and some vicodin for the pain, something in my body and mind keeps telling me I am pregnant. I asked them why this was and why I had + tests, the docotr said that it could be traces of hormones LEFT OVER from the miscarriage?! This is the same hospital that told me I was clear and that I didn't need a D&C...so how could all of a sudden I show up as pregnant? Would it have shown up in previous tests I had taken?

What should I do?

I suggest you should speak to someone, pregnancy counselling service where they will be able to support you and provide people who can help you in your situation. We all need someone at a time like this and you need not go alone on this!!!!



As for keeping the baby if you are pregnant, then do what is right for you and as for the ex.. well he is also or maybe going through his own struggles with it all if you are pregnant. I would still tell him if you were tested pregnant as this would only seem fair on him and your baby. If he did not want anything to do with the baby then you will bring up the baby as best you can I am sure. Good luck!!!

I have had every sign of pregn. one cup size bigger, very lrg areola, montgomery's tub., luekorreah, noticable lower abdomen expansion (i'm only 109lb), no period, extreme fatigue... I would be approx. 7 weeks. I had a m/c in Oct. all levels were back to normal before thanksgiving. I have two children. Had a vaginal ultrasoun with m/c everything was normal no cysts or tumors. had pap in aug. normal. I know i am any one here of this??

i have had 4 positive pregnancy tests and one blood test that says negative but it did say that i had some of the pregnancy hormone in me. he wouldnt refer me so i am left wondering am i or not?

HCG Blood tests say "positive" if the level is more than 25, anything lower than 25 is considered not pregnant. Every 48-72 hours that number should double if you are pregnant.

i'm 10 days past my period and i have taken 3 pregnancy tests, all came back positive. i'm almost positive that im pregnant, but i never thought i could get pregnant simply because my last boyfriend and i had sex for 3 years without any birth control nor did he pull out! i thought i was infertile. Now i get these results and am sure i am pregnant. however, i have been looking at the other forums and see false positives due to miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies and has got me freaking out. i go to the doctor tomorrow to get blood work done to be sure..ive already told my friends and family that i was and they are all really excited. Would you say im pregnant? the only symptoms ive had besides missed period would be breast tenderness, headaches and mild cramping. help!

When I thought I was pregnant I took a home pregnancy test that came out positive. Then I went to the clinic for a blood test and it came back negative. Well, I had my baby girl 20 months ago. At home pregnancy tests can usually tell you a lot sooner whether you are pregnant or not, but for a blood test to come out positive, you usually have to wait till you are six weeks pregnant. So, you actually might be pregnant. wait till you are six weeks pregnant and go take another blood test to find out.

I have had 2 negative hpt and one negative blood test but i still feel pregnant. i havent had a period for 2 months now and have sore breasts but everything is sayin that im not pregnant. does any body know if there is a chance that i could be pregnant? thanks xxx ;-)

i had 2 negitive tests (clearblue digital) 2 days before my period was due then on the day it was due i took another test (E.P.T digital) it was positive so then the next day i did another one (clearblue digital) and it was again positive so i mad an appt with the obgyn well then two days later i started bleeding so then i went to the obgyn that day and their urine test said negitive so when i left i took the another test(clearblue digitial) when i got home and it was neg this just makes no sence to me i had blood drawn so i'll kno tomorrow.
this has helped me understand and lets me kno im not alone

it's been 9 1/2 weeks since my last period and I have all the pregnancy syptoms. I waited to take my first pregnancy test till I was 4 weeks over due. I have taken a total of three tests and they all came up negative. Here's a back story. I had a son almost 4 years ago. I had the mirina iud put in right after the birth of my son. It was removed a little over a year ago my boyfriend and I haven't been trying to get pregnant but we have done nothing to stop it. In this past year I have been late only 2 or 3 times and it was no more than 2 weeks. I hadn't thought I was pregnant with my son till I was 11 weeks pregnant so I hadn't taken a test till then. What's the likelyhood of haveing low hcg in my body? If anyone has had this problem please tell me. I have yet to go to the dr. I have some issues with it but I'll go if I need, to I went with my son. My mother says I'm just stressed but I have no more stress then usual. Could that be holding me up? Please help!!

The first time i thought i was pregnant i took a HPT and its was P but the blood test was N.. I turned out not to be pregnant..

This time i have taken a HPT it is P again but i dont want to go get a blood test this time cuz i want to no why one thing tells me something then another tells me something else!
Its annoying..

We currently moved here in the Netherlands for almost 2 years now, i never been to a doctor here or nor been hospitalized but just heard that doctors here are not really that good, sorry but i just heard it doesnt really believe it till on my own experience. So ok, i missed my period and used urine test, it was positive, I am a excited of course as i really wanted to have another kid(hopefully a baby boy) cause i got already 2 girls. So I scheduled to see a gynecologists, he did the ultrasound, according to him if i missed my period around the date i have told him, it will gonna be 6 weeks now, but then when he saw whats inside my stomach, he could not say whats in there. I saw a very tiny thing and so he does. He could not determine if i am pregnant so now he told me to do the blood tests. I am going to see the result tomorrow for the blood test and now i am a bit scared that it will turn out negative as what i have been reading here. I only got tingling in my breast, and i keep urinating, and feel sleepy most of the day and feeling tired. No nausea nor vomitting. But i also read to the other sites that situation like this : "might be you bcome really pregnant but it stops because the fertilized egg implanted in your uterus and developed just enough to start producing hCG but then stopped developing for some reason. I was 11 weeks 6 days pregnant when i found out. I had been to the ob/gyn 3 times and had urine tests done and all 3 were negitive. Finally after not geyying my period for almost 3 month I had a blood test done and not to my shock it came back positive. She did a vaginal ultersound and there was my daughter. Now just for kicks when I was 7 months pregnent I had one facts plus test let and I took it and to my shock it was NEGATIVE......... I don't trust any of them.....

In my case i do have irregular periods n that is normal.The thing is i had my last periods in March 07(from 9-15) n it was a very heavy one.Thereafter i went for my depo injection.i then had an interc in the first week of april,I missed my period in april n now its already midmay but still not yet any.Suspicious i decided to take a home test (already 4 tests) but all were negative.The problem is i feel pregnant,also the pregnancy symptoms like,fatigue,breast tenderness,the amblical code, feeling sth moving in my abdomen n likes n dislikes r all present.I talked to my Gyno n also wanted to do blood test but she never wanted to carry it on.I am now totally confused not knowing if i`m really PG or if i just have fantacy symptoms.what do you think,dont u also have same perspective that i might be pregnant? pliz reply n advice.

Hey, blood tests are generally considered to be more accurate and sensitive although it does differ. Most home pregnancy tests detect anywhere from 25-100 units of the horomone but some are able to detect as little as 12.5. The accuracy of the blood test all depends on the lab inwhich your blood is sent to. Assuming there is no lab error, they can detect very small amounts of the horomone in your blood, but the cut off point that determines a positive or negative is different. Some cut off at 5, 10 or 15 others as high as 25. At 25 you might as well be taking a urine sample. Which test did you take? I'm curious to know.
