My advice: watch your hygiene and if that won’t work, take 500mg of metronidazole orally 2x/day for 6 days. My suspicion is gardnerella.
You might have a UTI which could cause the smell as well but that would most likely cause other symptoms like burning sensation or frequent urination; but it’s also possible. For that you should see a doctor because you might not respond to ciprofloxacin and might need cefuroxime or trimethoprim etc.
Take care of it and don’t have unprotected sex, otherwise you will transmit it to the person as well and women have much more severe symptoms.

True! But when showering I noticed that if I use hair shampoo to clean it under the foreskin, the fishy smell does not return. If I use regular soaps including body jell or non perfumed soaps, the smell is present the minute I pull it out to urinate.
