My husband had pain in his throat and under his tongue for one week or little longer, then it's gone. Also doctor told him that he has some lump in his right side of throat and should have CAT SCAN. Is it something serious? What could it be?
Visible lumps should always be taken seriously. The probable cause may depend on the accompanying symptoms. A cat scan should reveal what the problem is. It could be an infection or it could be a tumor. Throat tumors usually cause voice change, problems swallowing, pain in the throat, spitting up blood, and hoarseness.

There is no need to panic until an experienced ENT doctor has this checked.

A lump in throat may be caused by a number of different disorders like thyroid disease, stroke, dystrophy, some neurological disorders, etc
