I'm so relieved to finally know I'm not alone with this "weird" condition. Thank you guys a lot. I'm from South Africa and have had this problem all my life. Having to rush to the toilet every time my stomach gets hit by cold and sometimes warm air has been a nightmare for me, especially at night. I can never eat or drink anything cold during the mornings or cold days. I've learnt that doctors don't have much to say about this and only told me to make sure I stay warm. The worst for me was when I woke up rushing to the toilet during a very cold night cause I had cold air coming into my blanket. The mistake was me forgetting to wear my pyjamas and ended up vomiting in the toilet while taking turns pooping. Ended up loosing control of myself and fell to the floor. Luckily my university res' block manager head me growling and come to help. He was amazed how quickly I gained energy and consciousness after I had half of the hot water I asked him to boil for me. I have always made sure to keep warm and avoid instant temperature changes to my stomach. You guys don't know how excited I am to finally read texts of people with the same problem. People always looked at me like I'm weird telling them about my condition. Thanks a lot and let's keep our stomachs warm!!

Hi yes I am currently suffering with pain in my lower ab/uterus.
The first time it happened to me was due to the seat heating option in my car. After a couple days i felt like i was in labor i had severe spasm that would come and go. I knew it was the car seat because i never have stomach pain during my period.
Now it is happening to me because of the fan i leave running all night towards me. My habit of eating ice doesnt help as well.
I'll make sure to never sleep with the fan blowing on me.

I couldn't sleep last night bc of this damn pain
There's no solution for it beside taking a pill or having a tea and it always hit at evening or night
It happened 4 year ago I was light dressed in the stadium and the weather was sh*t bc of cold wind after that I suffered for 2 months every night stomach pain
Now its happening again

I'm not sure if my condition is related to this discussion, because I don't have cramps or pain, but I do get bloated feeling in my belly whenever cold air hits my feet. Same thing happens if i sit in a cold room for some time. Bu as soon as i get physically active in that moment (like jump or jog or just walk fast long enough to heat up my body) the bloated feeling goes away and my belly "deflates" or whatever it can be called.
Contrary to this, if it's not cold but slightly warm, my body heats up really fast, i even have sweaty feet if i'm wearing shoes and just walking outside for some time. I never had sweaty feet in my life before I was like 24 (now I'm 28). This condition was pretty uncomfortable since I had to walk to my workplace, so whenever I set into air conditioned room where I had to sit, my sweaty feet were starting to feel cold and this caused again bloating of my stomach.
I'd be happy if either of these two problems (coldness, hotness) were solved for me, cause it would break the cycle.

I also get problems with my belly getting cold and the area just feels painful sometimes I want to vomit or actually do vomit. The Japanese believe in cold stomach induced pain and even have items such as a waist wrap called hara maki which translates as stomach cover. They say the condition effects men more than women. Hope this helps

I never knew anyone else had this. Everytime im cold I get horrible flu like symptoms. Nausea, "frequent bathroom visits", intense stomach cramps, and lower back pain. Has anyone been diagnosed with anything or found any relief? I've had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy and they haven't found anything. Luckily I live in California but the cold months here are still unbearable

Finally more people who know what we are talking about! Up until now my daughter was the only person I had heard of that suffers from this problem. She's 18 now but has had this problem for many years. When she was about 13 and getting stomach aches all the time the doctor did loads of tests but said she was getting stomach migraines. I'm not sure if it was stress related or not. Now whenever she gets cold or gets a chill she gets stomach pains, often at night hence why she has layer upon layer of blankets on her bed even in the summer. By the way we are in NZ and our climate is not that cold. Usually we just use a heated wheat pack on her stomach and extra warmth until the feeling goes away.
So am I right in saying there is no name for this condition?

I've had the same thing happen to me my whole life, but it only happens from air conditioning. It's rarely happened from going outside in the cold. I live in Australia and no one else has experienced this, but back in the Middle East (I grew up in Jordan) everyone knew what I was talking about. All my family members have the same experience as I do and everyone is always reminding me to keep my stomach warm. We even have an Arabic word for it but it translates to "colic" so I don't think the translation is accurate.
