I'm a 29 year old female and I have this problem as well. It usually occurs when the air conditioner first turns on or when running in different elevations in California hills. I am a perfectly healthy according to my medical doctor and do not have any psychological problems. There's just something about the change from hot to cold that makes my stomach turn.

Well, actually many solutions have been proposed. Phisiotherapy, the hot bathminty oil massagehot ginger tea, minced ginger+brown sugar.tiger balm massage, milk/ginger/peppermint/coconut water(albeit he sounds quite weirdo). And as ways to get relief : star anise, socks, belly evenly covered. It looks as if Ivan (with his tiger balm) and the physio are the only ones really talking of cure.
So, rather, the problem seems to me that no one is coming back after trying and saying, "Hey, it does work"or "I'm afraid..." too many seem to have enough with knowing others having the same problem so as to tell their close ones, "see, I am not crazy".
To the Indonesian: no, "masuk angin"seems to most flu or cold. A cursory search will reveal many forums talking of the ills of wind/cold. I couldn't find any so far as related to my symptoms as this one. E.g., the Italian "colpo d'aria" afects mainly eyes, ears and muscles(in particular, neck).
I don't think we can be surprised alopathic med.have no clue... just think on the premises it is based. when you search almost everything that comes back is TCM(Chinese) and Homeo. I haven't had success with them so far, but I haven't tried much. But even them and the others I tried (Tibetan, Ayurveda, and various home remedies)seem to have no clue either. Strange since TCM has the concept of "external pathogenic wind"as a cause of illness.
I wonder if those of you who have the hrdest time reach there because you don't do anything like covering yourselves, getting out of the wind, etc.
One thing I don't see anybody mentioning is: if I don't do anything to stop getting worse I will usually reach to the point of feeling drained. ANyone else?
The other day I was feeling the air inside moving, the noises, etc. I thought it could be a good idea to stay in the sun with the belly uncovered. Warm day, around midday. I felt it didn't help. I applied something akin to Tiger B. Got worse and worse. Cramps and then that dull pain only males will know: as hit in the tests or more similar- being very arisen for some time but not having the opportunity to have a release.... I lay down. Maybe worse. Tried some asana(which help for the latter case, usually). No way. Then I stood up and immediate urge. Quite a loose motion. But instant relief.
I thought TigerB.might have made thing worse. But now i think it was uncovering me outside.
A few hours ago I had the borborygmus starting followed by the urge. To the point where normally there is only one way: the toilet. Closed windows but they continued. So I decded to give another try to the TB. IMMEDIATE RELIEF. Very promising. I, for one, wil def.try the 20d.3/day cure of Ivan. I'll keep updating. WILL YOU PLEASE DO SO, TOO?
We might not know the ultimate cause[and yet, we have the 2 claiming cure, through physio and Ivan, pointing something similar: body memory and * respectively] but we do know the obvious trigger: cold. I am more and more convinced it is not so much the actual temperature but rather the disparity between outer and room and body surface-surrounding temps. wind/drafts expose us too quick. ANd getting out of them/barriers(e.g.layers of clothing) protect us.
The borborygmus thing and peristalsis/urge seem obviously related. Even the cramps.
So, most importantly, we know the way to go: warmth. Around, in the surface(TB)and inside(ginger)Let's start learning and shearing.
Somebody asked about thinness. I am very underweight. What about you?
Blood type: no clue.

I have the same problem. My stomach was quite fine last year and i was a fan of acs, then when i was travelling at the beginning of spring in Turkey, in a cold city i took a shower in the hotel and then went out in wind without any sweater on me. It began and now with every slight weather change due to fans oe acs it gets disturbed. When I am lying down it's fine, when i get up or walk it feels like my stomach is spoiled in water. But i have a perfect medicine for it: vix thermorub. Not sure what it is called in english. I'm Iranian by the way

For those who are looking for a remedy I offer you to try my remedy cus it perfectly works. So vix is made by mint. I hope you know it. It's quite cheap here. You should put considerate amount, not little. The more the better. There should be at least 2 milimeters of it on your stomach. Then wrap it with a scarf very tightly. As soon as i do it (my husband does these) it feels like burning and in half an hour it is cured! Of course if I don't cure it, it gets worse. Wrapping alone without vix doesn't work at all. Before i discover the miracle of vix it used to end up in vomiting and diarrea and reacting to almost every food and sometimes shaking and then fever.
The point is that your stomach should feel hot severly.
I hope that all of us get rid of it soon.

I know what it is I can't remember the name but it's when you are struck with a sudden change of temperature and you gat cold.ll of your body parts are in the same state but your intestine. Your intestine doesn't know if it should stay the same or act according to the sudden change in weather. I suggest making ginger tea and sitting in the sun. This way your body will warm up and your intestine will go back to the same state. (I have the exact problem)

Hi guys! You can buy something called Efficascent Oil on asian stores and you can apply that on your stomach. The pain would go away after a few minutes :) It makes your tummy warm.

It just hit low temperature and I'm on a toilet wondering why I suddenly get the wets when this happens :/ but also just realised coffee and tea doesn't help! Shortly after trying to warm my self back up with a warm drink (tea) I soon returned to where I post this comment!

I want to share my solution, so far this works perfect for me.
When I get cold after eat (like in car with AC on), my stomach will be bloated so much that I can't tolerate, even went to ER for this.
It took me a year to find this out. I went to the doctors and had stomach checked (through a thin tube), and also went over a gallbladder surgery to remove the gallbladder, all these didn't help.
Eventually, the solution is to have mint tea, I use the Mint Medley from BIGELOW, this is there in my work place, so I just drink one cup of the tea after eat, so far I have no problem. Sometimes I forget to drink, or drink too late (sometimes I eat outside and took coworker's car back with AC on), my stomach would still have bloated and I just need to drink one cup and wait for 10 minutes.
I hope this can help these with the same symptom.

I have the same thing. It's absolutely horrible. It usually happens when I'm in bed and the covers aren't one me. If I get under the covers to get warm and stay there for a few minutes it will go away. However, sometimes it's too intense to stay there and I end up running to the bathroom. It's nice to see that other people are experiencing the same thing I am. Most people don't understand when I try to explain it to them.

For me it's the moving air cause the problem. I need to cover my mouth when going for a walk, take hot water bottle with me everywhere I go, holding a soft pillow against my stomach when sleep (so when I travel I need to take my pillow with me), cover right around my neck, stomach and angles so air cannot get in, wearing 5-6 layers under 80 degrees temp when my husband wears only shorts and t-shirt. Summer in Florida our ac is on 82 degrees, still I have to turn it off during meal time ( when my husband sweat a lot), the worst time is air somehow gots inside me after a meal, then The stomach cramps and watery poo ... Tried both Chinese meds and western meds, didn't work, doctors told me it is in my head, even my husband thinks I am nuts. Very sad, and impacts quality of my life. Hope for a solution/treatment. Thanks for any help and support you guys can provide.
