I had my last child Sept 18th of 2006. I had her via c-section like my son and this time I had my tubes tied. Around Sept 30th, I started feeling achy like I was coming down with the flu. After I would take my pain medication for my recovery, the symtoms would go away. And as more time went by I would go through weakness spells in my arms and hands so bad that I could not lift anything and they hurt like they where going to fall off. Not good when you have a new born. I did not think anything of it until I realized that a couple of weeks had gone by and I still had not gotten sick and the symtoms were still there. The only thing that made me feel better was the hydrocodone. When I went back to my OB/GYN he told me that it could be pregnancy carpel tunnel and it would go away. He gave me more pills. The next time I went back to him he told me that I need to go see my primary care Dr. So I did. He ran tests to make sure I did not have arthritis and he also checked my thyriod. That all came back ok. He put me on Lexapro because I told him I was feeling depressed and did not want my post-pardum to go untreated this time. He told me that I needed to loose some weight and stretch. Yes I need to loose weight but I am no heavier now than I was when I got pregnant and I did not feel like this before I got pregnant.
So here is it, almost 5 months after my daughter was born and I am still taking 2 pills a day ( normally around the same time every night so I can get things done around the house ). I feel like c**p. I am achy and weak 85% of the day. And now my eyes have a odd feel to them. When I move my eyes around, I get a tingly sensation ( that it the best way to describe it ) on my face and down through my arms. That has only been for the last 2 weeks. I am tired all the time no matter how much I sleep and I have insomnia. I do not have insurance right now to go back to the Dr for more tests but I do not think I can stand being like this for another month till I can go back. If anyone has any idea of what may be the problem or has had the same problem, please let me know. I am desperate to feel better. Thank you.

Dear Lisaandbro
I had a c section with my first child and I was okay too. I had a laparopscopy camatherera test to have alook around my tummy a few years ago. I have the same symptoms you describe and it nver went a way I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia so it maybe a good idea to do a google search on thisd as it happens to a lot of people after an operation or trauma of some sort. sometimes too many operation can be just too much for your body. I have since been dx with other problems since then problems with my circulation. so it maybe as well too to get this cheacked too. I wish you well and hope things get better for you kind regards Heather

i hope you are better now.....im having the same problm.....after 9 months of giving birth to a baby girl i am still feeling weak, having muscle pain and tired almost all the time.
Thanks so much for this, I thought I was the only one. I gave birth (c-section) just 4 weeks ago, (Feb 23) and steadily I was getting better and better, except for the numbness in my left hand. At first it was just a small sensation, but it's gotten worse and spread to my shoulder and my other hand, to the point where I can't even open a jar of jam, and in the mornings I can't lift anything, save my baby, where I have to really struggle. I was told that it was carpel tunnel, but it doesn't explain the tiredness and weakness (especially) that I feel. Whenever I sit I struggle to get up (especially if the chair is deep). I'm not overweight, nor was I unfit before labour. Somehow I feel this has to do with the epidural medication and maybe it's just a reaction that takes a while to get over. Either way I'll keep you posted as I go along. Did you manage to get a response on what it may be?
