Hi, have been experiencing the same th I G and just went to the do5and of course they put on a antibiotics for a week bit if it doesn't help I'm taking it out! Just wanted to k ow if you have gotten rid of yours if you dnt me asking lol I never has this happen but reading the responses it's like wow because I felt like I was the ony one.

I have developed a monthly FOUL odour that is like rotting fles I’m so sure it’s my copper IUD. I have NEVER had any issues at all with vagina odour and it is not constant it is monthly - I think just before menstruation. Yesterday I noticed It because my partner and I could smell something and thought someone had farted. When I finally realised it was me...I was ready for the ground to swallow me up.. I don’t know what to do, I’m going to have to remove it I guess

Hi ladies! I too have been having these foul odors. I've had the Mirena 2 months and since I've had it I've been spotting and some days I spot Brown blood. On others days I could just be fine and all of sudden I feel wet in that area and I go check and I'm discharging this smelly old blood. It is very annoying and stinky. I had sex once since I had it and it didn't bother me until afterwards . I cramped like crazy as I do every other day. I can't lift heavy objects or have any weight pressed on that area or think to even hold my bladder . Bc I will have the worst pain in my lower abdomin.

I have been on the Mirena for 11 months now, and all of a sudden I started leaking fluids about 5 months into having the Mirena. At first it was a little and every so often now it's so bad to the point where I have to have a pad on every day. Every move I make something gushing out of me, it's horrible I thought over time it will stop, but now I have been dealing with this for to long I just want the Mirena out now. As soon as I can I will be making a doctor's appointment.

The copper is just as bad. I've had mine for over three years and the odor has been bad recently. Started a year ago and my doctor told me it's the iud causing it.

As I’m typing here I’m just told that I’m having a foul smell now and again, Iv had this mirena for 15months now and it’s starting to disappoint, I went to the doc last week and I was checked and all tests came out fine. So I remembered I had this plastic inside me and I just had to google the after effects, I’m going to remove it tomorrow, I can’t deal with the embarrassment. It was good having it while it lasted but it’s about time I move on from it.

I had my iud removed 4 days ago and i have this awful smell that I did not have before!! Fishy, sour smell! It’s so embarrassing!!! I had the iud for 9 months. Bled the whole time, all the time. Gave up. Take it out!!!
So I did but now the smell. This is so hard on my mental health geez... can I just have a break?!! ( still bleeding btw)

i have the same problem and have had the implant out for years the smell doesnt seem to go away! and the ammonia smell i know exactly what your talking about! i constantly smell down there after washing it smells and you would think i dont wash its runing my life

Right?! I have pushed through a year of having the mirena in and it frikken sucks! females have to go through soo much bull c**p throughout history! i dont want to have kids which is why i have the mirena. I wanted to stop taking the pill because i felt it was no good for my body, and also don't want to have this smell stuck with me downstairs... i just cant win?!?! Men have it soo easy, it's just not fair. Why do womena get stuck with the responsibility of having child bearing organs?!

I have had two of these things. With the first one I don't remember getting a smell. However, the one I have now if that is what's making the smell, it is horrible I am constantly having to clean myself too. The smell that I have is bought like a weird chemical smell . I was just informed, that all the health problems I have, is being linked to the Mirena, PTS is the main one and I'm hair about to loose my eye site completed from it. The claims that I have read, state that they knowingly concealed the symtems I have had for years and years. I have never been able to find out why I had all these problems that can't be fixed.

Wow guys... Such an eye opener. I don't believe I have ever read surveys this accurate with each comment being similar to the next. I also just pieced the puzzle together in the past couple of minutes so I thought I should check on the web and here you guys are confirming my suspicion. I have had my IUD for approximately 3 years and have been trying to battle the rotten fishy/ gassy smell for about 6 months now. Maybe longer. There was even a time where I would ooze this watery liquid that smelled like rotten potatoes. Perhaps it's all that build up of semen that gets destroyed by the copper. I mean, where does all of that go? Yes the device works wonderfully, but the smell is horrid! It just seems as though the people around me can smell it. I am having mine removed tomorrow.

I had mine about 7-8 months ago and it’s made me very paranoid about the smell , no discharge at all but during intercourse the smell is very noticeable.
I’m going to have it removed Friday before my partner leaves me !
