Unpleasant Vaginal odor, could it be my IUD?

Following on my IUD removal 2 weeks ago.
Smell is still here. Discharge is WAY less present. It’s also less thick. But it is still here and there is still a slight smell. Way less strong than when I had the IUD tho.
I started the mini pill about a week ago.
This slight smell is still ruining my life tho. I can’t do this anymore. And I know it’s all because of the IUD. Praying that my vagina washes itself

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I have never had a smell coming from my vagina until I got this iud. It smell like the last day or so if my period. I hate it and I'm thinking about having it removed.

It’s May 2018 and I’ve had my Marina since August 2017. A month ago I had a yeast infection so I tried to cure it but my “period” came. My period(mostly spotting) was so strange this time it was very stringy like, almost like I was ovulating while on my period. It lasted for a week and half but the smell was still there after. well I gave it a week to clean itself out cause that’s what vaginas do and nothing happened! Odd/off almost sour smell still there. So I decided to douche cause I would normally do this after a “bad period” to help the smell go away and nothing. My discharge is normal it’s white it’s the right consistency but the smell is off idk what do about it. I don’t have sex often. So idk what this could be. Please help

Hello I can into this website a couple weeks ago going though the same thing a foul odor not fish not dirty but more like a rotten metal odor this smell would not go away the more I got tested for infections and stds nothing came positive so i thought maybe it’s the iud after a long talk with my husband (which knew about the smell) we decided to remove the iud I went to my Ob-gyn 2 days ago and removed my iud the next day the smell was gone! Am finally comfortable with myself again.

Well I thought she cheated and got an STD, the smell is like death. She got the IUD after kid 2 showed up with the pill. so thank you all for sharing such personal details I didnt realize how rough it is on you ladies. I'll be more patient, in what sounds like hell to deal with. Needless to say I wont ne getting non anytime soon ( my choice) the smell sticks to me like glue so bad I have to shave

Thank you ladies. You have confirmed it is the IUD. I thought I was going crazy. Odor is so bad I have to wear tampons everyday so the discharge doesn’t come out and when I take out tampon it’s like a yellow tan color. So gross and smells so strong. It’s embarrassing. I always clean down there, even my husband noticed the smell. I’m going to take it out and try something else. Can’t go on like this

Doesn’t sound like it. I’m going to remove mine. I have had it for a year and a half now and started noticing smell about 6 months ago. I’ve tried antibiotics, but doesn’t work. It’s our Ph balance. Over growth of hormones.

I had my paragard iud in for 5 years. I started to notice a fishy rotten odor. I could smell it before my period, after my period and after having sex. I also noticed I would happen as my day went on. I read online women having the same problem. I have been with my husband for 10 years so I know it wasn’t a std. I got checked for BV and it was negative. Then I told my obgyn to take it out. After it was out within 3 to 4 days no odor!!! I went on oral birth control, the kind with no estrogen and I love it. No more rotten smells. It had been more than 1 year and I never have to worry about smelling!
