i too have the same symptoms but did all tests possible, was admitted to hospital and did an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, i had a scan of pancreas, ovaries etc etc all clear but i still wish to stay in hospital for other investigations but my gi doctor did a physical exam and said that i have ibs, when i called he asked if i'm lossing any weight , he thinks major concern for him is weight loss and as long as i'm eating , loss of apetite is no concern he told me... i had ibs c for months now, and now i have normal bms, which means it's alternating between ibs a and ibs c...the discomfort of ibs a is very disabling and mine is constant especially after meals, i read this is a common ibs complaint which drive most of it's patients to eat very little food...my back aches but only when my abdomen is in pain..i read this is common in ibs and i have the habit to go to a doctor if any new symptom arise...should i ask my doc for a n upper endoscopy even if my doc is sure that i have ibs, from a clear colonoscopy and ultrasounds/bloods? i have been checked three times for anemia but all came clear...do ibs symptoms have the habit to change over time? i had fibromyalgia before that it started from a stressed situation same with ibs....i have gone to many doctor and a gi specialist....i dnt know where to go else!!! my thyroid levels are normal..
Hi there, it sounds like you are having some serious GI issues but that it looks like they're not able to necessarily find anything wrong. Is that right? I think a loss of appetite is an important thing to note even if you are eating. I am surprised that your doctor said that. Is there anyway you can get a second opinion? I think that would be a good idea. Let me know what you think!
Hi yes I did but all say the same but now the apetite came back. Its me who do not want to eat coz I feel so backed up that I am afraid to explode. I poo like rabbits and. My docs think I have all this coz of stress which I had a lot before this started.
Hmmm, if you are passing like that, it sounds like you may not have enough fiber in your diet. Do you eat much fiber or anything like that? It sounds like your feces aren't bulking up properly, and that would help a lot. What do you think?
hi i don't take much fibre to tell honestly but i take lactivia very often, i feel less bloated, now i am getting hungry all the time, is problems with apetite part of ibs? most often i feel hungier than i ever was. i have been tested for diabetes because it is a symptom of diabates but tests came back normal. cbc is also normal.
