I had all the same things. It was my gallbladder. They removed it and I'm fine now.

Hi there everyone,

I am 20 years old and I have experienced these same symptoms since 5th grade. Turns out I don't have lactose enzymes (after the various tests your poor wife went through) and I have IBS. IBS is a HUGE cause of my problems, or so I think. However, I have not experienced this burning pressure in my upper stomach before now. Upper back pain is also associated with my abdominal pain. I wish there was something I could do more to help. I also hope it isn't something more serious (for both of us!) and good luck!

Just this past week I saw something similar on Mystery Diagnosis. Woman had problems for a long time and had all kinds of testing, to no avail. When finally diagnosed, ended up having to do with bile and the gall bladder.

Korrala it has been quite along time. Have you ever been able to find out what was wrong with your wife. In reading your posting about your wife I thought I was reading about myself all the way down to all the exact tests.

Im 19 and my stomach problems started a couple of weeks ago its the most horrible feeling in the world to have to vomit and your body dosent really need too . I  have a stabbing feeling right above where my stomach is located at the bottom of my breast its so severe that an actual indintion or dip has formed. the indintion is realativly small but sometimes it has sharp pains, no doctor knows what it is but ive showed it to my family members and each of there reactiions is ooo man you need to go see a doctor aboout that wow... yeah and the burning feeling in my stomach i use to think it was because i was hungry and when i ate it got better but now i eat to make my stomach feel better and it still burns and i have gas.. it is especially bad at night i feel like i havent eaten it days the way my stomach burns ,, it burns so bad i feel like i have to throw up but again my body wont throw up and i cannot make myself throw up .. i have always had lower back pain even when i go to lay down but i just thought it was because of my weight and height but maybe that has something to do with whats going on ... i dont know what to do should i bother my parents about whats going on the doctor said there might be something wrong with my pancreas but i dont know anything about pancreas,s and my insurance with medicade is about to run out n ill be on my parents health insurence i dont want to be running up there bill shoot being an adult sucks wth is wrong with me i dont wanna die ...

My wife has had every test, has had 19 different meds and nothing has fixed her stomach problems. My wife just spent a round 6 hours in the E.R. to be told again that her stomach is ok. The doctors say its all in her head and she needs a Psychiatrist. Hope that is the case

Hi

I am so sorry to hear about your wife. I am going thru the same thing. I am very disappointed. One thing that does relief the bad is a compound the dr's gave me. It is call green goddess. A equal part maalox, benadrly and lidocaine. It doesn't help what is wrong but it does help with the pain for awhile.

Good Luck

Pa;-)

I feel very sorry for your wife because I have the same thing---I had my gallbladder removed on Aug. 5th but still have nausea most days and a deep pain under my left ribs in front and under my shoulder---where is your wife's pain? I take protonix (just started) but was taking prilosec for two months and it didn't help. I also take Carafate liquid suspension an hour before meals and it has helped some. I think i have bile reflux but I have had all the same tests as your wife and even had my gallbladder removed and still have the symptoms---It couldn't hurt to ask the doctor to try Carafate and also you could buy some plant based digestive enzymes at the health food store---Good luck

where is your pain? Have you had your gallbladder checked by ultrasound and/or HIDA scan?

In response to korrala.....what your wife is going thru sounds exactly what my husband has been going thru! He also has been to a well known AZ gastroentrologist and had all the tests done and they all came back negative. We moved to OR last year and he went to OR Health & Science University and they again ran every test they could think of and again, negative. He has lost some 50# and no one knows what his problem is. He has diarrhea, has been prescribed so many medications and none worked so this Oct. we stopped all medications, OHSU said the only thing they can think it is is lactose intolerance. Been on this diet for 2 months and still has burning sensation; only thing that helps is taking 2T honey sprinkled with cinnamon and this does calm it down. Been to an accupunturist hoping he could help....he did help with his sleeping better at night but no with the burning sensation. Please let me know if your wife's situation is diagnosed.......my husband doesn't want to go to any more doctors as tired of having the tests and everyone comes back negative. He's had several colonoscopys, endiscopy, abdominal ultrasound, gastro emptying scan, scan w/contrast, blood tests constantly , spittal test w/infectious disease doctor, EGD, video capsule, test for celiac disease and Crohns disease. Before 2006, he was so healthy and not on any meds then he got h. pylori and had his gall bladder removed and that's when the diarrhea started. We were traveling and he visited many ER's in different areas with D and they prescribed antiobiotics at each ER. He just kept getting worse and all meds prescribed did not help his situation. We are both so discouraged as no doctor can identify the problem and there seems to be a lot of other people with same symptons.

I hope you got some answers---I had my gallbladder removed three months ago because of the same symptoms and all tests have been negative but i still have pain inleft upper abdomen under ribs and experience heartburn and nausea daily.... it is miserable---did you ever find out what was wrong or find a solution?
