I have the same symptoms more or less since being in the hospital last Nov, new drugs bld pressure meds. given then I got home felt better for 2weeks then bam I have been having same symptoms and dramatic weight loss as all the posts have claimed so I am going to become gluten-free and dairy free as my 2 children and grandson have gluten intolerence and dairy. See how I react to all this as sometimes I think I am "crazy" and it's all in my head. BUT one thing to mention I do have a special needs daughter who is now 28 and have been taking care of her since she's 2 as she had leukemia and now has a rare seizure disorder uncontrolled - Stress maybe!!!!!! But I have to feel well to take care of her and I can't feeling like this. Cure me someone, I take enough pills.

I see that many people on here have been prescribed GERD type medications. If these medications are given before the proper tests are done... this can cause the over production of acid. I know this because this is what happened to me. I went to see a GI... he diagnosis GERD/acid reflux and puts me on meds. 2 months later the pain is worse... he changes the med to a higher dosage... then comes the test. He did it backassward. Now I have Barretts as well as GERD and I think it all started with the meds. I have gotten off the meds and changed my diet... avoiding those foods that I know are troublesome. Let them tell you what they will but I am a 38 year non smoker, non drinker and weigh the 175 lbs that I did in high school... these docs are script happy.
I would also suggest Probiotics... the gut contains 75% of your immune system. Good luck and God Bless.

This request is to the guest who replied on 3-5-13, what did you find were your trigger foods? We are having a hard time determining that, the only thing that sticks out is potatoes made any which way, which seems to be an odd trigger food so we feel that it cant be potatoes As that is never listed on any persons "bad" food lists

I had very similar symptoms, and after 10 + years of this pain a doctor suggested I go on a Gluten Free diet. My health has done a 180 degree turn. Even though all the test for Celiac disease are negative, I know i am allergic to gluten. I feel great, and I will never go back to eating gluten.

Have you researched Candida Albicans in the gut? When an imbalance occurs as does with a lot of people living in western society, it is responsible for much of our ailments and distress in the GI area. 90% of our immune system is in the gut and this organism is able to grow when we have taken antibiotics or have a diet high in refined sugars and carb. Hope this helps and once you research it in depth you will understand what I am talking about and can begin to take steps to kill the extra yeast in the gut and she can feel healthy again.

Bread will have gluten in it.you may be intolerant to gluten. I suggest:-
- eliminate gluten from your diet .. breads.
- eliminate gluten from your drinks ... beers
- no big meals to minimise load on stomach
- dont sit in low chair after meals ... folds the stomach and pushes acid into esophagus
- drink mouthful of water immediately you feel burn in esophagus.
Hope this helps.
