I am going through the exact same thing. :( In so much discomfort and Dr.s can only find a medium sized hiatal hernia after having an EGD and my CAT Scan showed that my stomach lining was inflamed and they sent me home with Protonix and Zofran saying possible gastritis and acid reflux but unknown cause. I am about to go crazy. I have been home sick for over 3 weeks and have been so sick I can't work. If anyone has any ideas on what is going on with me or can shed some light on all of this. I would be so grateful!

I just read about this, and another person had all this and a hiatal also, she said she went to a chiropractor and  manipulated it down, not sure what that means but she said her daughter is feeling 89 percent better and eating full meals again, worth checking out.

So sorry for your distress---some tests show negative results even when there IS a problem---eg my blood tests NEVER revealed that I was thyroid deficient etc. Have you tried the gastro -resist tablets called "Nexium"(------prazole---)??Works on the principle of not SOLVING the problem, but preventing effects of it---I had same pains and only got relief from these pills--may not be the answer in your wife's case but won't harm to enquire / research-- for longer term solutions see jw.org website.

Hi I am a 27 year old female and for the past week out of no where have been having severe burning in my stomach and diarea I went to the hospital and they did a catscan and said everything looks normal now I have to go to see my GI doctor. I had an endoscopy a year in a half ago and everything was normal. I've had h pylori before. But I don't remember it feeling like this! I'm always hungry but limit myself to fruits and Vegies and 100% grain breads.. Today I noticed blood in my diarea and now I'm really scared!!! ;(

Hi, how Ironic I happen to find someone who has experienced the same frustrations that I have had. To all of you who have posted this type of problem, Let me tell you; I have had the EXACT same problem again, and again. Went for hya scans, ultra sounds, upper GI's ---- All negative results. Did it feel like your stomach was on fire? Did you feel sick every time you eat anything with excess grease, milk, PB, eggs? If so, this may be either a food allergy, or the dreaded Gastritis. Gastritis is an inflammation in the duodenum in the stomach, and is often mistaken for an ulcer, or what I like to refer to as "Perma-Heartburn" or just plain misery. After having been tested, and been given meds that did nothing; I finally decided to consult my health foods book to see if I could figure out what this was; and then try a few different natural remedies to see what would alleviate my problem. I soon found a few simple (inexpensive!) remedies that worked! One of them being Pineapple. (You would think that the acid would make things worse) I learned that This fruit contains 2 natural herbs within it's stem--- Bromelain & Papain. These work to open up the digestive system, and reduce inflammation. (If consumed for such a problem though, make sure it is straight. Not canned, or preserved in any way.) After having tried this, along with Apple Juice with Ginger and Oregano mixed together and consumed as a "Toddy" I soon found relief to my stomach and the symptoms vanished. You may consider trying this, and see if it works for you. You can also try Fennel Seed (a small bit chewed up) and an Odwalla Smoothie from Wal Mart. It has to bee the green kind though as it contains several natural herbs that have healing effects for the stomach. Nearly 3 times now, these things have cured my problem EVERY TIME. And what's funny, is that my doctor had not known what my problem was for sure. I had to research the symptoms out of my health foods books, however, I also had to pay very close attention to my problem areas so as to not confuse problems. I'm so sorry you guys have been suffering. Try these suggestions and see if they work for you. Keep in mind though, You should keep track of what foods trigger your symptoms so that you can more easily locate the culprate. If Gastritis (Pain directly under your rib cage, or lower stomach which feels like bloating mixed with extreme pain that lingers for a while) seams to be your problem, Thanhere is what I advise you to do: 1) Try the remedies I named 2) DO NOT consume anything with excess salt, milk, any dairy. Avoid eggs, mayo, mustard. etc as these will add to the problem. Stay away from high amounts of grease until your symptoms start to disappear. Once gone, gradually go back to these foods until you find that they no longer bother you. Chances are, you could also have allergies to these foods. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, or If I can help;

Ooh. Your stomach may have way too much acid. Try eating unseasoned meat, a baked potato, and more solid unseasoned foods. NOTHING GREASY. See if this helps. You need more solids which will harden stool. Also, Avoid excessive salt, as this will create more acid which will create more diarrhea. Make sure you include sugars in what you eat to balance/counteract the sodium (salt) levels, and be sure to drink plenty of water (NOT juice. Juice will make things worse)

hi everyone just read this thread, I live in the UK and have been suffering the same symptoms for years and was always told it was IBS, but in the last few months I have actually undergone more tests and it turns out I have a very un diagnosed condition called bile salt malabsorbtion!!!! it is not even tested for in some countries because of testing aproval!!! it gives you extreme abdominal pain and cramps after eating, you bloat, have instant dihoreah, weight loss thin hair, stress and a burning pain!!!!  I drink a satchet of stuff after every meal and it helps most of the time!!!!

It can only be diagnosed by swollowing a small amount of radiation in a capsual then having special photos taken, no other test will show this!

Try googling your problem. You may find some natural remedy on Web MD or some other website.

Do you recall what the treatment was for this? Bile and gall bladder? I had my gall bladder removed and haven't been the same since; awful digestive pain, nausea, horrible taste in my mouth. Miserable! Did she get better?

Has your wife been tested for Celiac disease? My husband went through similar tests and they couldn't diagnose the problem. All the meds that were supposed to help his symptoms only made them worse. He tried eliminating gluten from his diet and has recovered completely. Such a simple fix when the medical community had all but given up on him.

I went through similar symptoms for 3 years before going to a holistic MD, who gave me a celiac test and suggested I avoid wheat and possibly dairy. I tested negative for celiac but followed a gluten and dairy-free diet and it literally changed my life. I got off my medications and felt better than I had in years.

Try cutting up some fresh Pineapple, and drink some Apple Juice with Ginger. You might be surprised what that will do. See if that helps. Pineapple has natural emzymes that open up the digestive system. Ginger alleviates it.
