My mother just got diagnosed with something called gastroparesis. She had a Gatric Stomach Emptying test that showed she had this disease. Her stomach emptied only 16% after an hour and 15 minutes. The stomach should competely empty in 2 hours I was told. Diabetics get this and people with thyroid problems can get it. Those with certain stomach surgeries. If you have been on narcotics, etc. If your food is staying in your stomach too long it can cause a lot of bad symptoms. They usually prescribe Reglan if you have this. My mom know she has this. The diet is very restrictive. We are so full of stress and anxiety trying to deal with this we don't know which way to turn. Anyway, some of you may want to see if you have gastroparesis. I was in bed with abdominal pain, myalgia, chills and fever every 10 days for over a year like clockwork (more spasmodic for 2 yrs before) Before the abdominal tenderness had subsided it was full blown again..... A new MD diagnosed h pylori 2 yrs ago (burning stomach) - his 3 antibiotic cure made me feel worse. After reading and trying just about everything on the internet for h pylori I found Manuka Honey actually worked for me. I've found sometimes medicines mask or aggravate the real cuprit. Hope this may help someone.
P.S. Antibiotics kill all the flora in your intestines - which causes the upset in the first place. Need to kill the bad and replace the good.

Not sure if you got the problem sorted yet - if not - I've had hiatal hernia and the symptoms you describe. Doctors ignore it, usually give antacids which rarely work. However, my Chiropractor has a technique for pushing the stomach back through the hiatus - it works for quite a while, sometimes the stomach can protrude again (i.e. after a bout of cough, or vomitting, or straining etc.), but this is the best solution I've found - perhaps worth a try?

I read once about a man who has bile reflux and it sounds very similiar to what you are describing. Maybe she should ask her doctor about that.

My mom is going through the same exact thing...She has been in and out of the hospital and had all kinds of tests done and they still can't find anything wrong...She went to the ER on April 16, they gave her a GI cocktail and Zantac and Zofran...They kept her long enough to make sure she had no negative reactions from the Zofran...She went right back to the ER last night...They gave her a shot of Morphine and sent her home...She ate today and it started all over again...She really has no appetite and has lost a tremendous amount of weight...She has an appointment with her GI doctor on May 15, I'm hoping she can shed some light on this burning sensation that my mother is having...My mom says that it feels like her stomach is on fire...HELP!!!

oh my God for a while there I thought I was going crazy, I have been having the same symptoms have had every test your wife has had and they remove my gallbladder because it had a few stones just in case that was it but that was removed 2 months ago and I'm just getting worse, all they put me on was nexium and nausea meds which I had to stop because they made me dizzy and sick. The doctor has no clue exploratory surgery he said might help them, I don't want that but the pain gets so bad I have considered it I'm 45 and never had stomach problems in my life, I think the doctors just think I'm crazy and just want attention it feels like they don't take me seriously...
I don't know what to do anymore, I feel for both of you, my husband sees me in pain and wishes he could help....

I have had every one of those test except the colonoscopy. I am currently waiting for results from my endoscopy. I have a great doctor that is trying his best to get to the bottom of it!

I know just what your going thru..This has been going on with me for 20 plus years, My husband also knows the pain I am in.
I have even drank apple cider vinager which I did get results from. I had my gall bladder removed and the Dr said she thought was root of all my problems, but nope..Here we go again, Im so discouraged.
