I am 25 years old and I am pretty sure that I am suffering from vacuolar myopathy. I did not have any problems until 6 months ago, when I started feeling some small pain, more like an annoyance in my left thigh. I did not pay much attention to that, but then walking and use of left leg became a bit hard, so I decided to see a doctor and he told me that it is most probably vacuolar myopathy. We are waiting for some test results, but could somebody tell me something right now?
Well, type of myopathy you are talking about is one of the less dangerous ones. I can even say with a great certainty that you are from Finland, Canada or France, since this illness is characteristic for these areas. Anyhow, live expectancy is normal, usually it progresses very, very slow. Legs are more affected by muscle weakness than the arms. But not in a great manner.
Hi Enoch, hope you have gotten much better now. I see that you posted this over a year ago and i wonder how you got on with it? My auntie also suffers from the above condition. We need to find treatment for this. If you know any good doctors specialised in treating this or have any recommendations could you please advise me? Many thanks and hope that you feel hunderd percent better now!
