I am experiencing the same thing. I believe it started when I took augmentin. I started burning in the urethra then it went to the vulva and now rectum. I tested positive for yeast and bv and took the meds. I am still burning, but tested negative for yeast bv, strep b, lichen sclerosis, cv, herpes. After three months of torture I'm feeling desperate. I am 53 and on the estrodial patch. Maybe I should take it off to see if it helps. I guess I will go to a vulvar specialist next. Hoping is not vulvodynia. Advice. Anyone?

Have you been checked for lichen sclerosus, luchen planus or vaginal eczema? I have same issue and I had biopsies done. I came back positive for eczema.

I had a biopsy done for Lichen Planus and it
came back negative. However some eczema cells were found. Can you tell me about your eczema? Is it inside your vagina? I have what appears as a red rash on the inside opening. It is also very red and raw at the bottom. It does not itch, it BURNS. I was given steroid shots with no relief. Now doc is stumped. What are you using for your eczema?

I have had burning in the vaginal & rectal area for a year. After seeing 5 Gyno doctors & 3 ER visits, no one knew what was wrong. Changed insurance & went to new doctor & a Urologist & they are stumped. Feeling sluggish & muscle ache so was reading the side effects of Stastins & guess what? UTI symptoms is listed. Doctor visit on Monday to tell him I am done with stastins.

Was taking AZO pills (OTC) & Healthy Trinity (OTC) at Sprouts & Whole Foods....but was looking at side effects if the stastin I am on as I feel sluggish & achy AND guess what? UTI (burning) is on of the side effect. Doctor appointment Monday to go over Stastins.

Well ladies & gentlemen. After 3 bouts of burning in the vaginal & rectal area & many doctors not knowing what it was or the cause....i think I figured out what was causing it. Statins, that I take for high cholesterol. UTI's are listed as a side effect. My GP said he thought it was Interstitial Cystitis & that is listed in the side effects. Going to my GP on Monday to tell him I will no longer take that medicine until it is proven to me that the Statins do not cause this burning. Saw 6 OBGYN's, 3 ER Visits & now see a Urologist & no one could figure out the cause. If you are on any Stastins, get off them after discussing the side effects with your doctor. Good Luck.

Same symptoms but my age is 69. I'm on potassium supplements for low potassium and this all started when I started on the potassium. My potassium levels are now normal but I seem to suffer with these symptoms.
