I am free of STD's and have recently had a negative BV test. Cervix was examined and was determined normal.
The white discharge seems to come and go but not predictable, sometimes it coats my partner's penis, sometimes it doesn't. I do experience a bitter, slightly sour odor.
I have soaked a tampon with hydrogen peroxide or vinegar and place it in the vagina over night to help the pH. Not much luck with getting rid of the discharge entirely but it does seem to clean out a lot of it.
Since many of you on birth control pills haven't found answers, I feel like with my experience, it probably isn't related to birth control pills. Again, i don't take any hormonal pills.
If it isn't some kind of new strain of STD, and most of your doctors are saying it's normal, (being a nurse ) I'm going to speculate that it is some sort of chafing of the skin inside the vaginal wall. I do occasionally get irritation and dryness during sexual intercourse and that seems to cause more of the discharge the next day or so when i'm with my partner again.
It almost reminds me of after swimming for a long period of time and the skin on your fingers turning whiter and sometimes chafing if you rub them together. If dead skin soaks in water (like scrubbing dead skin flakes off your legs) for a while, it almost looks just like the discharge I experience. The vaginal discharge seems creamier though because it is being mixed with vaginal fluids
Just my take on it since apparently most of you, as well as me, are being told that this is normal

wonder if there's anything to do with the antibiotics screwing up my inner microorganic/bacterial balance?

After reading these posts and having medical follow-ups with all coming up normal, I am thinking that this white thick discharge I am experiencing is just one more 'normal' thing I have to live with as a female. I will try not to feel too embarassed about it when with my partner (he hasn't said anything about it; I've even asked at one point as I was feeling really embarassed but needed to know how he felt/what he thought about it).
I'm glad I found this forum while searching online. Given some of these things aren't things I'd discuss with my 'friends' (at moment don't have a 'close friend' with whom I'd openly discuss some of these things), it's nice to hear/see what others might be going through and to realize I'm not the only one who is experiencing this.

Still doesn't seem to solve the problem though.

Have you found an answer? I think i have had a similar situation where my partner's penis was covered with all the white stuff & it is very dry and hurts when have contact so i went to a pharmacy and get a tablet for myself (its a yeast infection), i took it and after a while the whole thing dissapear but when having contact with my partner, the whole thing comes back again so i went down to the pharmacy and asked, this time she asked if i had any sexual contact, i said yes..she said if there's any sexual contact, your partner and you have to take the dose at the same time to get rid of his infection too (guys will also get infected because they had sexual contact w us but it wouldnt be so obvious on men that it would be on us) so that explains why i recovered after taking the pills but the yeast returned after having contact with him... if you have this problem, pls do not use any lubricant as it will make things worse..
Hope this will help!
Good luck :-)

I don't know if this helps you girls out or not, but I know my girlfriend very well and this has just started with her, though she denies it. Plain and simple, I know when it started. She was concerned about her weight and went on a *stu*pid* diet. I don't care about her having a couple extra pounds, and I might even leave her if she makes a big issue out of this sh*t, but the week she started dieting, her 'discharge' turned from clear, sweet, and liquid to something that looked more like cottage cheese and tasted like sour milk. Ladies, you're all different, I know, but stop *fuc*king* up your bodies to look like an AIR BRUSHED MAGAZINE COVER. Point blank, use condoms, deal with your period, practice safe sex, and stop messing up your hormones. seriously, do the math dummies. Hormones affect more than your vagina, they affect your mood, your mind, your body, and honestly no one enjoys being around a moody, mad, unreasonable, achey, bitchy woman. Took me half a year to get my girl off those drugs and she's never felt better or been happier.... until she started her diet. Thats my advice, I'm a guy, that's why I sound mean. Buhbye.
