Hi everybody! I have the exact same problem as everyone. This has been going on for two years now. I have the thick, curd-like discharge and it causes me to itch and burn (sex makes it worse). It has that "bitter taste" you all discuss. I've been tested multiple times and I'm clear for everything. I'm curious, are you all on birth control? I'm thinking of stopping my birth control entirely. I'm thinking of trying Nuva-ring or an IUD because they're low doses of hormones. I'm extremely depressed about this and I'm starting to lose hope, doctors can't come up with anything and I've seen many.
Let me know if you guys are on b/c, stopped, switched recently etc. I'm sorry we're all going through this, it's an absolute nightmare and I hope we can find answers.

I am crying right now because I have the same exact problem for a year now with the same partner for three years. I've been to the doctors hundreds of times but they all say it's a normal discharge. I feel disgusting and don't even want my man to touch me even though he says it doesn't bother him. I too am on ortho tricyclin and now after reading your post I'm going to change pills. That has to be the main reason.

I found this thread almost a year ago, and I hopefully this can help some of you! After years of going to the obgyn and being dismissed, I found a specialist in my city who actually believed and listened to what I was talking about!! I also was on ortho tri cyclen(when it started), this doctor told me that my problem is hormonal even though I have been off the pill for over a year he says that hormones can remain imbalanced (especially since I have mirena(progesterone) in) He said that It's probably low estrogen and perscribed an estrogen cream that I'm afraid to use. The only thing that helped me in the past was baking soda(sodium bicarbonate tablets inserted) but it's annoying to always do.. honestly I swear the first week I took the calcium mag/vit D it worked as well. But since finding out about the imbalance I tried MACA pills which honestly do decrease the amount of discharge, but not enough. I'm hesitant to use the estrogen cream since I have a small fibroid, even though it's only going to be for short term. I've been experimenting with different hormone balancing herbs, hopefully one works

I've been suffering from this for a while now. It all began after several changes in my life. New boyfriend, new birth control, and 2 months of doxycycline for bronchitis. So many sudden changes has made it difficult to determine the cause. Initially, I suffered from about 4 months of yeast infections which, despite numerous prescriptions, only responded to boric acid suppositories. After clearing up the yeast infection, while still using boric acid, I developed BV. BV was then successfully treated with microndiazole, which then turned to a stringy white discharge. Overall, that was mild. Next I was treated with clindamycin, which had no effect. Over time, the discharge changed to be the thicker and heavier discharge that everyone else describes here. My bf and I have both tested clean for the usual SDIs. I'm now in Asia, so I'm going to be tested for Ureaplasma and mycoplasma, which isn't often tested in the US. I'm planning to be tested for that this weekend. Isn't it sad when you hope you'll be diagnosed with an STI just to finally have an answer? :( The clinic in Hong Kong is shocked that the US doesn't test for these routinely, so it may be a good thing to request your doctor test for them since these are quite common infections.
I went off my birth control (Cyred) two months ago which seems to have helped a bit, but it may just be that ovulation resembles normal discharge more than the goo. I'm also taking vitamin D, E, calcium/magnesium, maca, b complex and 90 billion culture women's probiotic. I've definitely gone overboard ordering one vitamin after another based on other women's stories, but I guess that's what desperation does.
Anyways, that's my story. I've been following this thread for a while and thought I'd share my story just to add to the record. If my tests this weekend give any insight, I'll be sure to update the thread.

I had the same problem with My vagina being dry like on the inside when having sex, and it makes you very uncomfortable. Then you don’t want to have sex anymore. I went to my doctor and she told me to use Replens and I did! It worked great. The first 2 times I used it there’s this white gross lumpy stuff that’s like discharge but it’s all the dry dead cells from your vagina wall so don’t freak! It worked for me hopefully it worked for you!!! Sex is so much better now!!!!

I finally think I've found a solution for this---though here's hoping I don't jinx it. For a full year, I was struggling with this problem, and I went to multiple gyno's to try to resolve it. The first said it was probably yeast (it wasn't), then said it might be Trichomoniasis (it wasn't), and then the 3rd time she examined it, she determined that it was just, "normal," healthy, discharge (SIGH), and then the 2nd doctor, after looking at it twice (first time, told me it was just, "normal, healthy," discharge (SIIIGH), finally told me what it was made of: Epithelial cells....massive, massive quantities of epithelial cells..
That got me thinking...shedding so many layers of epithelial cells, for no apparent reason? I got to thinking...epithelial cells are basically skin cells...so my body is just shedding them like mad down there...so maybe they aren't retaining enough moisture in the cells themselves---like what happens with extremely dry regular skin...now, maybe it was happening because I had been on birth control for so many years, or maybe it was just because I was 26-turning-27 when it all began, and maybe that whole, "2nd puberty," thing was to blame, I don't know...But, whatever the reason, I started looking into ways to increase natural moisture in the cells. I looked into non-hormonal ways that menopausal women would increase their natural lubrication. Eventually, after 1.5 years, my symptoms gradually improved, and now I have it 99% under control, and back to normal, pre-discharge-change status.
Check with your doctor, to make sure it would be safe for you to do this, but here's the regimen I've established:
(I.) SUPPLEMENTS:
NATURE'S BOUNTY
Vitamin E
180mg
Pure dI-Alpha
NATURE'S BOUNTY
Fish Oil
2400mg* | 1200mg of Omega-3*
(*per serving...serving size = 2 Softgels)
(II.) MANUAL CARE
At first, about once every other week or so, I'd have to scoop out the excess discharge. As things developed, it switched to once a month.
At first, once every month or so, I used to have to douche with a mixture of 2 TBSPN of Baking Soda, mixed with 8oz of DISTILLED water. As things developed, and as the odor returned to what it used to be (instead of the weird, sour smell), I switched to only douching with plain DISTILLED water, maybe once every 3-4 months.
(III.) DIET
Drink 8 glasses of water each day. The days when you don't, you will see the difference.
This may be excessively graphic, but since I've been doing the above, as long as I make sure to take the supplements & drink water, I don't really have the problem with drying out super quickly during sex! Sometimes, what still happens is that my husband will come out looking like a glazed doughnut, but usually not. Nowadays, it's usually just happy, healthy, mostly-clear, natural lubrication :)
I HOPE THIS HELPS

HOPEFULLY I CAN HELP - Pls read girls
I feel so much for all of you, as I have been dealing with this same issue since my early 20's - I am now 28. And it literally went from having carefree sex with my now ex bf to one day him being like 'why is there white stuff all over my penis" which was pretty much the moment my confidence took a massive dive and then began the 'douching' any time I knew I was going to have sex. It has pretty much made me so anxious over the last 7 years as I basically can't have any random sex as I feel I need to be able to 'douche' before hand, to avoid any embarrassing discharge comments. Goodbye spontaneous sex.
Ive literally been to every doctor, gyno.. I have had the 'Leep procedure" done twice, which I DO NOT recommend unless you actually need it. This consists of having your cervix cells 'burnt off' - this is usually for ladies who are in danger of cervical cancer as they have bad cells. However I had this done to attempt to reduce my cell count - therefore reduce the amount of discharge being produced, even tho my gyro/doctors always told me 'my vagina is completely healthy.' This didn't work. I don't get that discharge in my underwear that girls should get, as its so thick it just sticks to the walls. It doesn't smell as such, but its awful. Anyways I ended up getting really bad BV not long ago, I was seeing someone regularly therefore douching too much, and it obviously completely through off my balance. I was using boric acid capsules which I made myself, but they are only temp results. (I do recommend this to girls tho, do some research it could be effective for some of you). I was given Flagyl, which I took all 5 tablets at once for (there are two ways you can take it, over like 6 days or 5 pills at once). I didnt get any side effects and I couldn't believe how normal my vagina was after it. About a month later I sort of looked like it was coming back, in which case I took another dose of Flagyl which cleared it again. Since then, I have been taking Ethical Nutrients Candex tablets. AND I THINK IT IS ACTUALLY WORKING. Its been two weeks, and while I'm careful not to douche again, I have checked my discharge and it seems soooo great. It's naturally coming back into my undies again. It's so light and I would be so comfortable to have sex without douching again. Some girls are just always going to have a higher Candida count, in which case if I have to take Flagyl every few months - so be it. Take the Candex right before bed, do niot have hot drinks after taking it as it doesn't work as well. So right before you sleep is best. Ive tried all the tea trees, washes, thrush treatments (useless) but this is by far the most consistent my vagina has been. Fingers crossed the Candex will help maintain the right levels, and your doctor will be fine about gaining a Flagyl script in case you break out again. I hope this is a help :)

I had the same exact thing happen to me, had a normal sex life then after a new partner started as a yeast or bv problem so started using probiotics and douching with yogurt with live cultures. A nd now I have a bigger problem....most of the time when I have sex now I get a white tacky milky discharge that is very irritating, sour like you mentioned. And always test negative for yeast bv ECT. It really sucks! I think it was an overgrowth in good bacteria. Please be careful with probiotics.
