Hi all. I’ve been lately experiencing vaginal soreness and I’m afraid that this might be an STD? I’m very scared. I’m 16 and I really don’t want my parents to find out about it… Can I go to the health center to be tested for it? How much does it cost? Please help me!!
You did not tell the most important thing – did you have unprotected intercourse?? You see, vaginal soreness can be caused by many factors, including intercourse irritation due to inadequate lubrication, skin sensitivity to detergents, fabric softeners, soaps, tampons or sanitary napkin, yeast and other vaginal infections, herpes, other STDs... If you had unprotected sexual contact and the symptoms are persisting then you should see your gyno. As far as I know there is no charge for the exam, or assessment for vaginal infections since you are under 24. Of course, if your doc prescribes you medications, depending on the medication, there could be a charge. Doctors will always protect your privacy so there is no way your parents could find out about this – just make sure that if they charge you, they don’t send it to your home.
hey im 16 too and i have the same thing.. i dont want to tell my parents either as they dont think i have done anything.. stupid parents.. lol. but i do know that you can go to the doctor urself without them knowing now that we are 16. You can ask them not to send the bill to your house and if you get the number off ur mums medical card you can claim all the money back because we are under 16. i have done this before when i got a pap smear. I used to get sore when I was 16 and was using tampons. I found that switching to a pad at night, or when there was no need for a tampon helped the soreness.
ok im 15 n my vagina has been sore here recently i have been on birth control for my cysts on my ovaries...of course im not a virgin...just two days ago i snuck my bf in n we had sex ever since i have been sore...i cant find anything to help me to find out wat this is....idk the name of my birth control all i know is its a shot that goes in the hip that u take every 3 months i just got the shot about a month ago or so n of course i dont want to tell my mom what i have done cuz i will get into a great amount of trouble i havent been a virgin since January of 08....wat could be wrong there is no one i can have take me to the doctor i dont want to tell ne 1 wat should i do? PLS HELP!!!
I'm older than you. My suggestion is you see the school nurse. I also suggest you use condoms. Birth control prevents babies,not diseases. You are to young to destroy your future. Don't you think you owe it to yourself to find out what you want and what your future has for you? The likelyhood of you being with these boys in five years is not likely.
