Wow I didnt realize so many people had the same problem as me. I feel slightly better. but yeah I just turned 17 and I started around 11 or 12, with the sweatiness. It first started with really sweaty armpits, then my feet, and then my hands. Now i have it REAlly bad, my whole body seems to sweat more now. Its so freakin annoying. Ive gone to the doctor and asked my gyno and niether know exactly what is wrong with me. So i did some research and I believe i have hyperhidrosis. Ive tried alot of things and read about more and im still not convinced any of it will work. It sucks, because i realized that it has a huge affect on my social life. So people who are just now getting it dont let it affect you. I know it is hard but im realizing that i cant fix this problem of mine, so screw it. I start karate now and thats a really physical contact training. I feel sorry for those i touch, but i have to deal with it all day every day, i think they can deal with it for an hour. but yeah i know how you all feel, it sucks. And honestly life will never be normal for us, but if anyone really knows any thing that works. I am willing to try it. so good luck to every one, i really hope they find a real cure for this. and thanks to all who is talking about this.

Hi Debbie,
I just read your reply bout the primose oils. I am definately going to research that. Good Idea! I am the lady who wrote the 1st letter about the sweating that your responded too.
Im your age, 42. I still the same problem, hasnt stopped but someone told me today, a friend that I should try proxcide ( ? ). She said that the odor will help the underamrs for a temporary solution. That the odor is from bacteria and that proxcide will kill the smell.
So that's all I know. Thought I would share.

I have the same problem as everybody else. The only difference is that it didn't start happening until i was 17. (Might be because i didnt go through puberty till later than everyone). I am 18(almost 19) right and it still hasn't gone away. For me it is off and on, and i noticed that i get more sweat when i am concentrating, nervous, or just talking to someone. When i am by myself doing nothing, there is very little armpit sweat. I always thought that i was sweating because i felt uncomfortable and nervous when talking to people (social anxiety). Right now I'm not sure if this is something that i can prevent from just relaxing, becoming more comfortable, or maybe even do some meditation or yoga... or if its something that needs to be treated. This problem affects my life so much because i would rather sit inside and do nothing than go outside and have someone see my huge disgusting pits of sweat. Its good to know that it is a pretty common problem and i am not the only one with it. I wish everyone the best of luck that their swamp pits get cured.

my sister used to suffer from this, and in her case we found it was hormones and settled down over time.
Obviously good hygiene and regular deodrant application is necesay (i'd recommend a cream one- like dove - it jus seemed to work for me)
Another temporary cure to this is to have botox injected into your sweta glands. HOwever this is expensive and not advisable for young people. If you're desperate though it really can change your life

I am 22 yrs old and i had the same exact problem with not being able to wear short sleeved shirts!! I would always have a long sleeved zipper-up over all my outfits!! Not to mention i have a form of eczma on the back of my arms as well. I went to the Dermatologist and they prescribed me some AWESOME SUPER STRENGTH DEODORANT that burned soooo bad when you put it on before bed!! I was to use the medication before bed and then again when i woke up. It totally worked!! I will post the name of the medication tomorrow when i go to my mom because that's where the old bottle is. My dermatologist also told me if the medication she gave me didnt work, that i would have to apply the medication to my armpits(its was a 5in bottle white with green witting and it was like a dobbler u use at a bingo game) and then wrap my armpits in suran-wrap after applying it. I discontinued the use because it got too expensive BUT IT WORKED!! I could wear all my cute little shirts and all!!! Ill get back to all u tomorrow

Excessive armpit sweating is more common than people think, but it makes you think you are the only one who has this, and it seems so unfair... I had this condition, called hyperhydrosis, for many years until I found a product sold in Europe. It's called ODABAN and is available over the internet. Just do a google search. There are many testimonials for the product on the website, and I had to try it. It does work. None of the other stuff, like regular antiperspirant (Sure, Arid etc) worked and not even Certi-Dry seemed to help. The Odaban comes in a little bottle, you spray it on at night, and the next morning shower it off. Itches like crazy, but works immediately! You may have to do it a few nights in a row, but it will work and works for months! I of course use regular deodorant/antiperspirant. I think I have had the same bottle of Odaban for a couple of years. They say it also works for feet and hands, although I don't have this problem.
I hope this works for anyone reading this. I wish I had this during my teenage years! I would have had a lot more confidence in myself!!

INTRODUCTION: An excessive sweating problem is usually caused by a disorder of over-active sweat glands like the thoracic gland and causes a lot of inferiority complexes, thus leading patients to avoid facing the public and in turn lowering their morale and spirits. It could also be a symptom of menopause.
Perspiring At Night is a very common problem for a lot of people. It happens at night because we come to a point where the bed is no longer able to absorb more heat. It is the very last action that the body takes in order to cool down. Excessive sweating can be very embarrassing and may sometimes indicate a more serious health condition.
HYPERHIDROSIS: A genetic condition that causes abnormal sweating of the hands, underarms, feet, scalp, face, or blushing that is beyond the normal emotional and physiological need. It also is known to promote the development of skin infections and also increase your body odour. It affects more than 4 million Americans and can negatively affect people both socially and functionally in their daily lives. This condition presents many choices and important decisions so please consult your doctor.
TREATMENT: Excess perspiring created either by disorders of sweat glands or over active glands can be cured quite easily either by thoracic surgery procedure or an excessive perspiration treatment. Treatments to cure overactive sweat glands and excessive sweating problems is easily gotten but your doctor should take into account your health, age, severity of the condition, allergies to specific drugs, procedures and therapies.
Some of the other means to cure hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating problems include surgically removing the overactive glands, iontophoresis (Utilizing an electric current to introduce the ions of a medication into bodily tissues.), application of aluminum chloride solution and psychological counseling.
You should remember that the problem cannot be stopped unless some sort of treatment or cure is taken. In fact the medicines that claim to treat the condition do not label themselves as treatment for hyperhidrosis; they just claim that controlling it is an added feature of the medicines. You should also remember that such over-the-counter products are only temporary solutions and not a permanent one.
Botulinum toxin or Botox is another treatment that is used to treat over active sweat glands. It was first used to treat eye muscle spasms and wrinkles. But many patients observed that botox also reduced perspiration in those regions where it was injected and thus many physicians began using botox injections to cure excessive sweating. Botox is very costly and has a success rate of 90%, but the effect will last only for 6 to 8 months.
There are numerous people who have gotten some relief using one of the methods stated above, but if you have tried any of the above said solutions and have found no relief from excessive perspiring, then surgery would be your best option. Consult your doctor.
CONCLUSION: Excessive sweating includes sweaty palms and feet along with body odor. It is also known as hyperhidrosis or hyperhydrosis, and is a result of overactive glands and may be controlled with strong antiperspirants, which plug the sweat ducts. This excessive perspiring problem can only be cured by thoracic surgery procedure. Look out for different safe methods and if all goes well you might end up finding a cure for your problem yourself.
