Hi, just wondering if you found a successful treatment for your blurred vision or if it returned to normal? My situation sounds very similar to yours, though my chalazion was only removed a few weeks ago. My vision went blurry a couple of days before the procedure. My specialist says that blurred vision is not usually a symptom of a chalazion which concerns me greatly. I would love to hear from you.

I had my chalazion removed five days ago. There was nothing wrong with my eye, just that the chalazion need to be removed. Since the day after it was removed i experienced this blurred vision similar to yours. The Specialist advised me that there could be three different reasons, egg:
1) I washed my eye out with tap water, which was not supposed to be done.
( This specialist never advise me not to wash my eye out with tap water )
2) They determine that i am allergic to some of these medicines (eye drops and
ointment).
3) They added some gel on the cornea and cover it with a lens for approx. 24 hours.
This will remove the scratchy feeling in the eye and will also help for the blurred
vision.
This still did not help.
I decided to get a second opinion. I questioned this matter with another Doctor and it sound like to me if my eye was slighly injured, because with the removal of the chalazion the blurred vision should be of temporary matter, and should get back to normal shortly.

Can someone please advise me if the blurred vision will get fix. I even experience a scratchy feeling in my eye.

Please be of help, or advise me of a good specialist that really care for there people.

Thank you
Gerhard

Gerhard, has your vision improved now? You said your doctor suspected that your eye was slightly injured. Did that happen during the procedure or was it the chalazion that did that?

How long did you have your chalazion before you decided to get surgery? I have one that has been causing astigmatism also and I've dealt with it for over six months. Now I'm going to get it removed.

I have this same exact problem after having a chalazion treated with a steroid shot almost a year ago. The chalazion did go away but my vision in the eye fluctuates drastically from day to day. Some days I hardly notice the "looking through water" as you describe, and some days it's awful! I believe that it's likely due to the gland being blocked and not having enough moisture in my eye. I've tried lubricating eye drops to no avail. I believe with chalazion surgery some glands are likely lost so the eye has trouble producing the needed moisture, hence causing the blurred vision after removal.

I'm at my wits end so I've been researching like crazy. From what I gather, supplementing with omega 3's is supposed to be helpful, along with artificial tears/lubricating eye drops. I'm on a hunt to find good eye drops and purchase some omega 3's.

Another thing to note is that the blurring tends to be much worse in low humidity (it's winter and dry here now) a cool mist humidifier running in your house should also help.

I hope if anyone else stumbles across this with the same problem after having a chalazion find some of this info helpful, blurry vision after having perfect vision is so awful ✌

5 days after the surgery I have blurred vission too. Doctor told me, he didn’t see reason for it. Before the surgery I had perfect vision. Now I can only hope the things will get better. I can’t find any explanation for my problem. This was second surgery for my chalazion, it was very small and hard to notice from distance. Now the chalazion is gone, but I have blurry vision. Only if I knew what will happen, I would never touch it.

I had a chalazion on my upper eyelid, and I had blurred vision before it was removed. I had it removed yesterday and the blurred vision is still there. Had anyone else ever had this issue?
