Is vulvovaginitis often caused by genital infection? Is it possible that vulvovaginitis develop without having sexual contact? I think that I have symptoms of vulvovaginitis that are manifested like itching, dryness and white vaginal discharge. I use to have this type of discharge just before my period. It is obviously different situation now, and I ‘m worried about this. How could I get it?

I use to have same symptoms, and it is type of vulvovaginitis called athropic vaginitis. It is caused by low estrogen level. But also it is possible that you are allergic on something that is used in hygienic, like soaps, artificial colour added in toilette paper, bubble bath or material of your clothes that was in near contact. Allergy can be caused by spermicides and condoms too. Sexual contact is not the only way of transmission of bacterial or parasitic infections. It can not be excluded without laboratory tests of vaginal discharge. I’d suggest you to visit your gyn anyway.
